[Archive] Scar's miniature Madness painting

Admiral:

Very nice on the 40k front (particularly the Mechanicum robots), and the Abyssal Dwarves came out well, as well. However, the Mantic sci-fi scenery looks fantastic. Your paintjob brought out the best in it, and puts it on the future shopping list as a certainty. Well done sir!

Skink:

I would really like to know which heads were mounted on top of those Infernal Guard bodies! They look cool :).

Scar:

Cheers guys!

Skink: ill ask him in my next update email!

Finished assembling of the rest of the chaos dwarf army and then i got a bit distracted by this guy:

TheHoodedMan:

Huuuuh, somebody robbed a bank :yar.

This model is awesome, rarely playable but a absolutely great display piece. I`m looking forward to the paintjob.

Abecedar:

Awesome amount of work in the cockpit, and then it gets hidden.

Where do the other two pieces hide?

Scar:

Hey all!

Abecedar: All is magnetized so you can take him apart and look at the inside so nothing is wasted!

The other two pieces go in the torso.

More Abyssal Dwarfs finished!

Army is soon finished!

(waiting on answer where my client got the heads and weapons from)

Scar:

My client’s response on the questions of the heads and weapons:

’‘I got the metal heads and weapons from Grimstonefire on Chaos Dwarf Online! He custom sculpted them, and years ago we split the cost of a metal mold so we could each have some - I just only now was finally about to have it painted, by you =). I actually have tons of weapons left over, although no real heads of this same type. I think he should have tried to sell them, but he was worried about GW. But they never made some of these weapons for their new chaos dwarfs!’'

So Grim, time to get those molds dusted off :stuck_out_tongue:

Admiral:

Excellent work on the Titan cockpit and the Chaos Dwarf army.

And yes, Grim should get more cast to sell, including his blunderbuss arms. There’s always demand for good heads, and if I remember correctly he had 100 units cast of head kits, blunderbuss arms and other weapon kits. In exaggeration one could say heads are 9/10 of a model, the way a head swap can change a mini’s look completely. I’ve never seen the point in limited edition production runs anyway.

Skink:

Yeah, I actually recognized Grim’s weapons instantly :). I couldn’t place the heads though! I didn’t know he had sculpted some.

Anyway, once again your painting style doesn’t fail to deliver! Whoever your customer is, he is not going to be whining about the quality of these. Granted :D.

TheHoodedMan:

The part changes look great on those Abyssal Dwarfs. Really nice army.

Nicodemus:

WOW :o

I really like the colours. I would not have thought they’d work so well. Brilliant!

Malorndk:

Those weapons and heads add such a variety to the infernal guard model, it reminds me off the time before Tamurkhan, when people would convert BFSP dawrfs into CD with lots of individual masks. Looked so awesome. The FW models are super cool, but the lack of mask variety annoys me quite a bit

Scar:

Thanks all!

Yep those heads are indeed very cool and i really like them shame i already got my army finished else i would have tried to get my hands on these!

Tomorrow more chaos dwarfs! Almost finished with them just 10 bull centaurs a bull cent character 5 more wolf boys and 40 hobgoblins.

Finished some more fantasy models, this time some models for a friends army so i painted them to match his already painted army.

TheHoodedMan:

Clean work :hat off.

Colors on that beast are very strong, would be interesting to see the rest of his troops.

Scar:

Hey all,

Cheers Hooded! don’t have pictures of them unfortunately but its basicly that turqoise for all the armour and then the rims with gold and flesh the same color as the flesh on the beast.

More abyssal dwarfs!

TheHoodedMan:

great! The wyvern - what base size is this? Perhaps I can prox one for a magma dragon (thinking… how much was the price difference; I`m afraid not so much).
edit: A whole army in turquois and gold … brrr …seems like slaanesh infiltration.

Abecedar:

I do love these ones. Great character and painting of course

Scar:

Hey all,

Cheers guys!

After a long wait i finally got my bases in from Dragonforge.com!

It’s a new line that he sculpted and took some time to take in production but i think they fit my night lords very well.

So i rebased he models i had already painted up and here is the result:

Grimstonefire:

Great to finally see someone actually painting my casts (other than me)!

Those do look really cool.

I may still have some heads lying around somewhere, but they will be buried very deep. I can’t imagine griffon kept my moulds from a few years ago.

Scar:

Hey all,

Nice sculpts grim!

More chaos dwarfs finished!

Finished these first 4 hired swords for a commission rest of the crew coming up next week!
