Kera foehunter:

well it kinda slow now !! i need to make some stuff to throw up here

get this going again

Auretious Taak:

That’d be cool.

Anyways, awesome idea regardless Kera.

Luke.

Hashut’s Blessing:

I did wonder what had happened to this as I attained an excellent model and was hoping for me ^^

AT, I’m lucky in not having to do that because of my coding

Auretious Taak:

Heh, well that then gives us a starting point on slaves for the mods/admin to be able to use, just take whatever you had to start when you won that model HB, plus current slaves of 213 and that’s the max they have to bid with.

Otherwise, it would be great to see stuff posted up here in any case.

Cheerio,

A.T.

Hashut’s Blessing:

That’d be 279 (since I have 214 slaves as of typing this  ) I believe. I gave Lord Archaon (I think, apologies for bad memory) 65 slaves (3 times, originally, but he managed to get them back to me somehow. Ta mate!).

Kera foehunter:

well we need more stuff ! we need more stuff !

Hashut’s Blessing:

Are you volunteering, Kera?

Kera foehunter:

well i have to get a few things done but i will put up something cool

Hashut’s Blessing:

Good lass  saves up slaves

apocalypstia:

as a token of thanks to the awesome ms kera, a chaos dwarf big hat untouched by paint has been added to SlaveBay. Slaveing to begin (deleted and edited). Thanks to all and happy slaving.

I apologize for my apparent wrongness… so the auction has begun and will close at 10pm on the 11th.

Ive just got a few questions. The auction usually starts as soon as you post it and people dont usually charge postage.

apocalypstia:

well then i suppose i misunderstood some things didnt i - according to the original incarnation of slavebay… as posted by Hashuts Blessing furthering Kera’s idea - line item number 2:

"2- The buyer (using slaves only), shall be the one to pay for all shipping and package costs. This is to be non-profit and will be the cheapest (and, of course, safest to the model) cost!"

I thought it would be better to run the auction on the week as prescibed in the slavebay outline. but i can go ahead and edit it to reflect revised timelines.

I was always against that and i didnt know that it was still there. Its up to the seller of course but it will probably put a lot of people off if they are actually going to have to spend money as well as slaves. I thought that the whole point of this was that it was completely free.

apocalypstia:

it sounded pretty reasonable to me, for the buyer to pay for shipping - buyers choice of method. Being completely free your shifting burden to the donator. The mini is essential free for slaves to the slave bidder/buyer all they were doing was shelling out a few monies to get the mini to them in the most efficient economical way and or by their method of choice for delivery.

Essentially your saying that Donators to SlaveBay should pay the highest bidder for the priveledge of receiving their slaves through paying for shipping. Sounds almost like a penalty to the donator to me, we have paid for the model using real world monies and or trades, we have drooled over the awesomeness that we will create… for what ever rhyme or reason we are “donating” it to a great community… and by the by let us pay to get it to you. Anywho… i am beginning to ramble…

Overall i think the idea and concept to the SlaveBay is awesome. A potential benefit to the community as a whole. I was attempting a gesture of good will and thanks and i have been educated. its all good.

Lord Archaon:

Maybe we should make a poll about this rule? IMHO we should make all rules clear for the bidders and sellers, because we’ve already got a dozen people asking about the rules. Maybe a locked sticky tread with all the rules?

Hashut’s Blessing:

If people list the rules that they need clarification on in here, I shall create such a post and update the first one in here.

As for the “buyer” paying for postage ad packaging, they are getting a model made/obtained by another member for a few slaves, whch can be earnt simply for saying a decent thing or for making a long post. I think it is unfair to expect their charity to go further by paying to get it to someone. They are doing a kind deed by giving away a model for nothing. If the majority disagrees, I’ll change it, but I think people are less likely to spend time sculpting a model, converting it or waht-have-you and then paying to give it away for free and it could put “stockists” off.

Agreeing to a number of slaves in additiuon to the winning bid for postage would also be a fair alternative because at the end of the day the donator can then use his/her new slaves to bid on other items other people put up for sale on slave bay so it works out better in the end too. And seriously, it doesn't cost a massive amount to post a small model off overseas.

Then again, I might be biased not having paypal or anything similar.

Hashut’s Blessing:

If it is agreeable with the auctioneer, you mayy pay postage in slaves instead, but if either party wishes to use currency for postage, it shall go by money, not slaves.
