Godbob and his jolly rogers:

Ok now for my part of the dicussion I do not collect CD, I have no real connection to CD apart from the greenskins and hobgoblins but I jioned this site because what I saw was a nice, frienderly community but I wanted to get behind the CD getting redone march now my post count is quite high now that I look at it :o and to get to 1000 is not a worry to me yes I would to but i’m not desperate

So now that I don’t get reconised for my posts in the Warhammer section is a bit of a downer for me I don’t know that much about CD so posting in the Chaos Dwarfs section makes me feel a bit sad, I want to be reconised as a member who can be confronted by new menbers because of my post count although with 700+ posts I doubt that will happen

Now don’t get me wrong it’s a good idea but to me me I think it needs a little bit more thought IMO

Swissdictator:

Well seeing as they have the elite section, I can see how post count would matter to some people. If they had an alternate  way of getting in (such as being on the forums for a year), that might work… but what about 5 years down the road? I like how the elite section is about recognizing people who contribute to the site, which includes the Warhammer section, Marketplace section, and even off topic showcase.

I can, and have, gotten ideas for an army by seeing what people have done with other armies. Isn’t it possible that when looking at say, someone’s Ogres, I might get an idea how to work on my DoW Ogres for my CD? What about for unit fillers like many people do for CD.

There is a lot that can be gained from these sections.

The warhammer section is important. The state of the game itself (such as new editions, FAQ, etc) will impact our army. New armies and their rules will make us think about how we might want to design our armies. A number of us do play other armies and can give advice on what to expect from an army, or how the new book might change things.

Plus what about people who think Chaos Dwarfs are awesome, but might not want to convert an army or play an army that’s in a limbo for tournament legality, but really love the concept and background and want to see what we do with our Chaos Dwarfs? That’s how I am on the DoW forum (and I will be active there in the future). Making Warhammer off topic in essence, gives it a feeling. It’s not a good feeling as it gives the impression “we don’t care about that so much”.

I wish there had been some more discussion about this.

Grim, with all due to respect, the way you started this it came across poorly. I’m not attacking you on that, as Hashut knows I can come across the wrong way a lot. Again, with respect, the way you posted it this it seems like you arbitrarily decided to do this out of the blue. That may very well not be the case, but that is the impression that I received from it. Remember, impressions work differently on the internet.

Still, we do have a very good community and this does seem like a friendlier forum then the other forums I frequent or have frequented (Wisconsin Warhammer League, Civfanatics, a couple others).

Edit: Will this effect how I get slaves? As that would impact the Slavebay…

Grimstonefire:

Ok. Time to bring an end to this.

Sorry guys and gals. I misjudged this one. I accept in hindsight it was not as ‘small’ a change as I initially thought.

I can be mature enough to put this behind me, request for admin to reverse all the changes I made and move on. If they decide to do it in a different fashion at some point in the future that’s up to them.

I will lock this thread as it’s not in the forum interest for us to be at each other’s throats all the time. It’s happening too frequently of late, and I certainly do not want to be the ongoing cause of it. All I have ever done and will ever try and do is make CDO a better place.

Willmark:

For all those wondering i will be posting some information and sending a site wide email later tonight in regards to this.
