Thanks. Will it make an appearance in a future Word of Hashut? I don’t know! He never tells me.

Well I have one, so I don't hate Willmark. Good thing too - what would he put in his magazine without me?My, my, such hubris.

If the Lammasu is painted well then it looks OK, but it is still far from being one of the better CD miniatures.
Willmark:
The whole lineup had a weird look to them that I can’t quite put my finger on. Something about the head positioning and beards never set right with me. Add the fact the stove pipes.
It’s weird; to me the 4th edition models represent a huge step backwards from the Marauder minis which are nothing short of awesome.

im quite a student of mythology, thoi have to say i am in need of both torus and lassamu for my armies, tho the face on the lasumu is a bit big , anyway
i think that id probably count it as an anvil of doom posibly… not sure tho

Bearded cow-ladies? Shudder

Hi!
I have a question … I don´t like the old GW Lammasu, but i´d like to have a cool one in my CD Army …
Has anybody an idea which mini I can easy convert to a Lammasu?
Willmark:
The old school Lammasu is actually I good starting point. Check the image gallery or my blog, I used it as a basis. Chop apart, green stuff it and make it your own.
X-Porter:
Hi!There was some talk a while ago about using one of the lions from the upcoming High Elf chariot as a Lammasu base. I'm not sure on the relative sizes or when it's available, but it might be worth looking at.

Hmm, not bad the idea! Wihh nice wings …
This reminds me that perhaps the Darkelf Manticor could also be a possibility …
Thanx a lot!
CheTralfara:
I’m going to get a High Elf chariot myself so that I can use the 2 lions to create 1 Lammasu and with the 2nd body, a Great Taurus (with GS hooves). The body size seems to be PERFECT (keep in mind it’s DWARFS riding these things! they were never super huge!). You still need an ogre or giant’s head for the lammasu (with GS beard) and a doombull, minotaur, or bloodthirster head for the Great Taurus!
You can also use the 2 high elf horses to convert some Bull Centaur champions, and then lastly I get to use the Chariot to make a Slaaneshi daemon chariot!
Oh my god! Picture this: A Chaos Dwarf Lammasu, with the big Chaos Dwarfish face, wearing a GIGANTIC TALL HAT! HAHAHAHAHA
You could put the Sorcerer Lord ON TOP of the HAT!!! HHAHAHHAHhahahaha
sorry about that…
Zanko:
No, no the lions are for my taste a little bit too small! I think the Manticore will make it!
And I don´t like the original Lammasu because of the dwarf face … so I think a “real” lionface will make it!
But that´s only my personel preference.
And I prefer also the 3nd Edition CD, no big hats on my Lammasu :o !!!
CheTralfara:
It was just a joke about the hat on the lammasu. That would look absurdly stupid if someone actually did it. The lions however ARE about the exact same size as the original Lammasu. Also, historically more lammasu’s were Bull bodies, rather than lions. The lion’s face would actually be a really good start, however, historical Lammasu had a human face, not bestial. Did you know that most Lammasu’s had a phallic symbol earring? I learned about that in art history class. The phallic symbol had alot of meaning in Mesopotamian aristocracy. It was a symbol for power and wealth, and of course, man’s dominance over ancient meso society.
I wouldn’t be suprised if the manticore had nearly the same size body as those lions, but honestly those lions are about the exact size of the great taurus and lammasu bodies of 4th edition.

The talk about using the White Lions from the chariot were prior to actually seeing the model. All in all they are way to small. remember although the Lammasu is cat like, its still a monster and should be a great deal bigger.
Thommy H:
To be fair though, the Lammasu is quite a bit weaker than a normal monster of its size (i.e. 4 wounds - “Griffon sized”, if you like) with only two attacks. I don’t think it would be massively uncharacteristic to represent it as a smaller creature. A Lammasu isn’t for fighting: it’s to give the rider a mobile platform and magic resistance.
Willmark:
True, but the lions are on the scale of elven steed, A lammasu should be bigger then that.
