[Archive] Theessexgirl LOL

Ghost:

Ive got a Hobgoblin Wolf Hero on Ebay and she had bid on my auction, So I removed her bid and blocked her from biding on any of my actions.

She replied to me "It amazes me how small mined some people can be"

I replied "Love form Chaos-dwarfs.com xxoo"

When I’m selling something I want a gamer who wants the model to buy it, not someone who wants to resell it for a stupidly high amount of money.

Patrikson:

Good on ya mate but now we might get some trolls since she knows the website

Pyro Stick:

lol awesome. I didnt think of cancelling her bids. Watch out for the other big ebay vultures and block them all so that you dont need to cancel bids in the future.

Willmark:

That is awesome! Karma there Essexgirl

speedygogo:

I dunno about you guys. Take a moment and think about what you are doing. The “sex” girl bids on something you want to sell and you block her? Call me crazy but I think that is dumb as hell. You never block thesexgirl. It like getting mad the “hot” girl is showing interest in you. In principle, you are just so wrong.

Ghost, the idea that by doing this you are somehow perserving the integrity of the chaos dwarf pricingon ebay is silly too. Dude come on, no one cares. If you want to sell something then sell it, being a turd to a potential buyer just makes you look like crap.

Honestly, posts like this just make me laugh.

GRNDL:

Speedy, I think you’re totally missing the point. Ghost is interested in selling to someone who will use it and not resell it for their profit. Selling to theessexgirl and others like them just means that that piece will stay in Ebay limbo until some poor sap spends the extra cash unnecessarily. I think its nice for someone to have principles these days.

Loki:

First class mate

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

I think I missed the point of this too. How do you know she’s going to buy it and turn it around at a higher price? Has she done this in the past with you (or others) before? Do you have a record of this with other people?

I know it’s your preogative to deny sales. I do it sometimes too.

Its The-Essex-Girl. Not The Sex Girl. How long have you been here? Everyone knows that what she/he does is not good for chaos dwarf collectors. Posts like yours make me laugh.

This is why you ban theessexgirl:

http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/theessexgirls-miniatures__W0QQ_sidZ196983025?_nkw=chaos+dwarf&submit=Search

£5.99 for astragoths arm!??! £30 for 8 plastic warriors!?!?!

Once i asked her if she had any spare parts for the Whirlwind. I needed two wheel scythes and one of the main scythes. She wanted £30 for those 3 bits. I tihnk thats when i realised waht kind of a person she is.

Grimstonefire:

£35 for WD presents!?!?!  I paid £4 for mine (+postage).

The sad thing is that there must be enough people who buy at those sorts of prices for her to keep doing it.  Otherwise she would have lowered the prices by now.

Baggronor:

Exactly. I never sell to anyone unless I know they will look after my stuff.
It like getting mad the "hot" girl is showing interest in you.
Eh?

torn:

the thing i find strange is its actually a bloke. im sure i bought something from them a few years back before the prices got ridiculous, the chaos dwarf army book i think. definitely a guy, and the prices definitely go up and up.

Da Crusha:

well, I’ve actually never bought anything from her, but I wouldnt ban her from buying something from me. from the way people talk about her I thought she had tons of items, only 36. I don’t think she could be getting much business either because there is always cd stuff selling for less on ebay I know because I check every day.

If she keeps it in limbo does it really matter. These types of prinnciple are silly. If Ghost wants to sell his chaos dwarves then sell them. Ebay will go on an people will buy and sell Chaos Dwarfs as they please. All Ghost did was alienate a buyer. What you guys are extolling as principles is just really pretentiousness. If the sexy girl resold the items who cares. High prices do not garrentee a buy. You are not saving anyone by doing crap like this.

The only thing this did is make Ghost look silly. Honestly, wargammers get a bad enough rap as it is. Ghost gave this person quality stand up comedy to make fun of him. I have seen this sort of scenecs in movies like the 40 yr old virgin.

For my part, I just telling the kid: "Take a secondand think about what you are doing?"

Willmark:

Sorry Speedy but you are completely off base here, those jacking up eBay prices for no reason other the they can is not going to garner any sympathy here.

Since you weren’t here for this you might want to check this out:

It was true then, its true now. Sorry but there is NO WAY I’m going to view her asinine pricing and then whiny *itch response to Ghost other then what it is… “she” doesn’t like it? Too bad.

Bazil:

This ebay lot is hillarious when its NIB and has the original price and someone tries to sell it for that much money. When I did find Whirlwinds and Tenderisers for $10 Canadian

Swissdictator:

I try to avoid selling on e-bay. I’ve sold two armie (1st Empire and 1st VC) to people I know and game with. I sold my Chaos Mortals to a good friend who wanted to get into the game (skittles as you guys know him). I traded off my 2nd VC with Servius, as well as the bunch of Saurus I had.

I’m much more comfortable selling or trading stuff to people I know will give it a good home. Yeah, it’s not like how people feel about a pet… but it’s still something we worked on and cared about.  It’s even nicer if I will sometimes see that army in action too.

If someone is just trying to use it to make profits, at other expense… I don’t care to help them. It’d be one thing if someone bought figures, painted them up nicely and sold them to make money off the painting… but that’s not what this character is doing. It has the same stink as vile used car salesmen…

First of all who are you calling KID you don't even know me!
I am a collector of Citadel miniature and I have been for over 14 years.
I very really sell models may be 60 over the last 10 years as I prefer to swap them to help my collection and like wise to the other party.

I offer on CDO and had know takers so I put it on ebay for .99p and I was happy to see it go for that price as the model is useless to me I all ready have one and I will never field two at the same time.

I did want to see it go to a store who the on sell it for 17+ quid and it my proactive who I stop from buying my things. I also have a second army worth of metal epic 'nid that all stared at .99p when you compare the price of them to one of the bigger epic stores I couldn't believe the price difference.

And as for the part about it being stand up comedy he/she was the one who had the retard remark, and in that showed full well that they know why some one would do that.

Id like to thank  Willmark and Pyro Stick I know they as collectors can apreciat why I did this

GhostGhost first of all I've got nothing againast, really. I going to be as crystal clear as i can be and I don't mean to offend you. You point is stupid. You are getting all worked up over nonsense. Supply and demand drive the pricing of products. The lady is not going to affect pricing of chaos dwarf items. She does not have a monopoly on chaos dwarfs nor will have one. The essexgirl will never drive the pricing of chaos dwarf items.

If you list an item to sell on ebay then randomly censure people from buying them because of a self righteous attitude that in doing this you are somehow doing gamers a favor, all you a being is a turd. You can try to cast it in a different light but I'm calling it what it is.

Honestly, the fact you feel so strongly about such a trivial thing is hillarious and scary at the same time. Dude, it is just a game. Life will go on whether chaos dwarfs sell for a nickle or seventy dollars. However, being an asshat to people interested in the hobby just keeps people away from it. If essex girl was interested in taking up Warhammer, do you honestly think she is going to game now? If anything you drove her straight away and your bragging about it. Tell me why your proud about that?

From my understanding, you don't know this person but have made several assumption about who she is and what her ethics are. The reality is you don't know a thing about her but are all too willing to slander her. That is not cool and no amount peer pressure will ever make me buy into that kind of BS.

Keep your miniature. Whatever you are selling it for, it ain't worth the price.

Nicodemus:

There’s really no need to start a flame war here, we are all better than that on here.  If we can’t understand another side’s point then let’s agree to disagree and move on. Going out of our way to write comments that are only going to provoke isn’t conducive to having a conversation or a debate on the topic.

As a hobby person and collector, I get it - If I’m selling off parts of my collection I’d like to at least imagine that it’s going to find its way into the hands of someone who appreciates what they’re purchasing and I’d also like to know they’re getting it at a good price.

eBay re-sellers just jack the price up to an inflated number and then let it sit until someone is desperate enough to pay for it.  I can see the argument that if someone is willing to pay an outlandish price for Astragoth’s arm or other specialty hard-to-come-by item then we should also commend the seller for doing good business as it’s supply and demand.  They’ll only ever sell these price-inflated items when there’s no other items currently up for grabs on eBay at the time the seller is looking.

So I’m saying I can understand both sides, I really can.  It just so happens that I don’t like the practice of re-selling one bit, as it means that that item hasn’t gone to a good home where it’ll be put to use.  Not immediately anyway. What it also means is that the original seller isn’t getting the “top dollar” value it will ultimately sell for.  These sorts of things have gone on for countless centuries in all markets.  As a seller you need to know who the buyer is, if you don’t like them you don’t have to sell to them.  There’s nothing comical about it. Wholesale shops will even ban certain people from buying from them if they know the items are just going to be re-sold for a higher price in another shop. Where I grew up there was an entire family and all of their relatives and such that were banned from buying anything from a large discount place because it would just end up in their corner store the next day for more than double what they had paid. It was worth it to them to make the effort as people would pay because they were open late when the big discount place was closed by 7pm. I don’t particularly see anything comical about the issue.  This is just how the world is, it’s just the way things work and obviously Ghost has done what’s well within his right to do as the seller.

So can we just mentally bury some of the less constructive tones in the above posts and focus on the topic?  I mean, what’s with that Sheriff and the Frog guy on eBay re-selling classic games that I like for more than could ever be reasonable (like 3, 4 or 5x the usual going rate)?  Mean, his stuff sits for months without a bid and he just re-posts it until someone makes a purchase.  And more to the point, why am I such a hypocrite?  I mean, I did just buy 3 copies of Space Hulk with the intention of re-selling one of them later at an inflated price.
