Alright, looking at your new pics the Boar Centaurs definitely are better proportioned than the horse Centaurs.
A couple of points:
a. You may wish to fnd a less glossy varnish as it generally looks better on the finishsed product;
b. Why are the beards of the Boar Centaurs the same colour as the armour? They are not rigid looking, so I am presuming that they are not intended to represent a beard guard. They should be in a more natural colour;
c. The GS armour. Try to make the scales of a more uniform size and to straightness so that the quality of your work comes through.
I like the look of your Boar Centaurs and look forward to seeing more of your work.
@ Border Reiver Thanks for the compliments about my Boar Centaurs I wholeheartedly agree that these models are definitely better proportioned than the horse Centaurs. But having only used miliput before I am now llearing the art of green stuff and loving it !

Indeed these belive it or not HAVENT been dipped althougth with the washes I have put over there they distinctly look like they have. Sadly they do have a bit fo a shine on them making them look a little outlandish

They were ment to be a auburnish brown colour which didnt work when they were painted over wiht my varnish. I think mahaps a blusish tone will be applied via a few drybrushes before I look at varnishing the mmodels again with a different spray/brushable varnish

Indeed I willl be hitting these up again looking at my newer work with green stuff rather than miliput to finnish them off and make them look somewhat more uniform and a higher quality scupt. For my sins im a stickler to what I know. Sadly this seams to have had a derogitary effect upon my new beloved boars.
Border thanks for your kind words and ill get back ot these again when ive finnished the current project of making newer improved blunerbusses. In a He-Man style
“I have the greenstuff”
This is fast becomming a blog. If possible could a very helpfull moderator move this thread ot the blogs section of the forum please. I do appologise for any troubles this may cause.
Thanks Melvin for you kind compliments on my chaos dwarves. Im quite pleased with some of the results but I think they may need a bit of finnishing off in the painting department. They look a little unfinnished I think the camera I borrowed made the sins of the models a lot more prominant. Aside to say I may even consider getting some arm painter or spending much more time on then. Yes I was also aiming for a steampunk/advanced looking force in the warhammer world. I can easily see the chaos dwarf stood at a press all day inventing the idea of mass production in the warhammer world and throwing out hundreds of firearms weapons of all sorts coupled with some relics of the past within them too.
You asked if the basis for the blunderbuss/annhialator models were some old 40k miniature.
In the dim distant future there was war. They come from the second edition of Warhammer 40,000 was published in late 1993 having got 4 copies of the game I had plenty of spare models left over and never got arround to painnting all the 160 gretchin from the copies I purchaced (three of which I got in 1998 when gamesworkshop were selling the whole boxed set off for £10).
Thanks for your kind words and crit they do come in usefull as I would like to make this a great looking chaos dwarf force. Seeing the first time I started using greenstuff is the blot throwers and im loving the results. By now you will have noted that I am not the worlds best modeler but im trying to achieve something different using different ideas to come to a recognisable attempt at a chaos dwarf.
Earthshaker and crew painted up. Lamassu finnished and painted up ( i wish I had been able to find some genestealer claws for the front legs it would have been so much better but alas its not to be). Currently on the Bazooka bolt throwers and a regiment of 20 former night goblins. Will deffinately provide pictures sometime with reguard the earthshaker and the lamassu this evening. Im not totaly happy with the Chaos dwarf warriors but they will do till I find an anternative.
Heh, cool to see that you used some of my ideas… You’ve managed to bring this army up really fast, impressive! I also like the use of the WD as a sorceror…
Yes I had to yours is one fo the coolest forces on the boards and I just had to try and attempt some fo your ideas . I cant say that the excecution is so good but the models themselves I really love.
Well I have still another 11 white dwarf models left and I had to do something with him so something had to give. Im not sure the paint job is up to much but hes pretty charactorfull.
In a endevour to keep the army comming and making things as simple as I can has bolstered the force comming together quickly. Now I am using greenstuff instead of miliput I think things may start happening in a better detailed better sculpted way.
CD warriors finnished converting today and paint job about 1/3rd the way througth. I must say they look pretty cool and I will be uploading pictures when they are done.
20 Chaos dwarf warriors and 4 bolt throwers painted and ready to show soon when my wife comes back with the camera anyhow . Also a unit of 10 hobgoblin wolf riders are in the process of converting into a usefulll sized unit and 50 hobgoblin’s should be dropping soon complete with the 5p sheilds. I love our great brittish coinage so much more usefull than a 5p would be at a gamesworkshop store. And working on a Taurus but any suggestions on wings to use ?
Great work Thorne looking forward to seeing some pics of the guys you have just done, great work on the earth shaker and crew and also on the conversion of the white dwarf model
The Earthshaker is well sculpted and the crew looks pretty good.
I like the “Black Dwarf” sorcerer - simple conversion.
The Grendel Warmachine is well done, and if it is not too bold of me, a simple and light drybrush with the metallic colour of your choice and you can call that giant/kollossus done…

Deamoneater Muhahahahaha Kollossus! Bolt Bazooka’s Deamonsmith Bull Taurus Work in progress Any suggestions on good leathery wings ? Preferably not the dragon ones as I have already used them on my Lamassu Chaos dwarf warriors (from BFSP night goblins) Chaos dwarf warriors (need a full paint job and finnishing off too from BFSP night goblins) Deamonsmith’s Hobgoblin wolf riders work in progress Hobgoblin cheiftan front (will get a converstion and a a 5p sheild later) Hobgoblin archer from Em4 front Hobgoblin archer back Hobgoblin cheiftan back Bull centaurs redone beards Paint in progress Zagrod Will finnish him propperly when the army is completed
So any ideas on improvements and ideas where to go next. I do hope to fill out the Slave contingent to 100 with a 2 x 25 strong hobgoblin archers and 2 x 25 strong hobgoblin warrior regiments that and a regiment of hobgoblin wolf riders for cannon fodder and fast attack options making the army at about 230 models
