[Archive] [Warmaster] Machines and Artillery

fattdex:

Hi all,

I’m creating a range of proxy models in 10mm scale- that just so happen to be able to be used with the Legion of Azgorh Warmaster list I am developing (HERE)

First model is a mortar carriage (a troop transport car will use the same lower half), plus I’ll be doing a lava cannon and steam train.

No time estimate until I get prints back, but these will be added to Eureka Miniatures 10mm range.

Looks good…

Dude what can I say, it looks fantastic. I always dreamed of having a Warmaster army, if you are really going to cast this I’d definitely buy it. But please, tell me that you are also going to make regular infantry and other units… Cause Eureka’s Evil Dwarf range stinks. I mean, it’s good but doesn’t quite fit Chaos Dwarfs.

fattdex:

I would love to do everything, but will do them in order of need- as they have useful troops already they are at the bottom of the list and I don’t think Nic would want/need to have two different lines of 10mm evil dwarves. I think that their dwarves are alright, but i prefer the ‘modernized big hat’ russian alternative sort of look for line troops, and the ‘forgeworld giant’ look for bull centaurs.

This was created as an excercise to learn MOI (great program), later down the track I will try to make some organic stuff when I learn z-brush.

Looks good...

+1

Admiral:

Now this is interesting. Good work, although the crane head is too big.

Grimstonefire:

Forgive my ignorance here, but could these not be cast in 28mm as well?  Could you just scale them up?

I’m in need of some supply wagons.  I’m planning on making one with two water tanks and a guy with a flame thrower ontop.

I must admit I have been wanting to sculpt some warmaster models quite badly in recent months. But they are damn fiddly to do and even more so to cast myself (I experimented casting with some WM dwarfs)

fattdex:

Thanks, you could print in 28mm but it would be prohibitatively expensive to so so, and many parts are over-sized to accomodate printing and casting at the very small scale (such as the treadplate, levers and crane head)

fattdex:

I am waiting until my holiday break to do much more work here, but here is the beginning of a train that I have snuck in so far

Skink:

If you will ever print this army, and if you will ever make infantry, I will buy 2000, 3000 ponts worth of them.

fattdex:

Yes, they are going to be cast first half next year and available through eureka minis, who already have some infantry available (hopefully we can fill it out)

tjub:

That would be so cool!

I don't like Eureka's infantry...

fattdex:

I finally have the prints ready to take for casting now! Dropping them off tomorrow. These are just all of the bit that would easily ‘snap fit’ for fit testing, I have left off a few smaller bits that whilst fit fine, would prefer to be glued to stay in place.

If these work out good I will work on a lava cannon and troop carriage next.

Admiral:

Very cool and professional result. That choo-choo train look like an official model. If ever I get into Warmaster I’d like to purchase one from you in the misty future.

tjub:

You got a great looking train there!

Yodrin:

Awesome, awesome train!

cornixt:

Fantastic!

Admiral:

I’ve no idea for price range, but wouldn’t it be cool to have a trophy rack and collection of valuables (such as golden miniatures) for an excentric Sorcerer-Prophet in WHFB? Or perhaps just a fully functioning scale model for a Daemonsmith Engineer?

Then the train could get used sooner than expected for my purposes. Would you be willing to sell one train? It would depend a bit on price, I guess.

Abecedar:

Great stuff there Fattdex… Another thing added to my extended wish list.
