Hashut’s Blessing:
Cool base. I like the vines/roots creeping around it and very funny with the brother-in-law joke
As for a colour scheme, I was thinking: (according to the painter you gave us) Enchanted Blue Skin, Mithril Silver Scales (bear in mind, these are the colours to use on the painter, you should try to replicate how they appear rather than what they are
), Blood Red Spines, Claws and Teeth, Golden Yellow Eyes, Burnished Gold Headress thing, Shield Spike, Shield Rectangles, Weapon Spike, Edging, Side Spikes and Outer Handle, Fiery Orange Shield and Tentacle Pink Shield Trim, Chaos Black Weapon Inside and Handle inside…
Not sure on the shield colours, but I was trying to make them look different.
AGPO:
I believe there’s a section in the old lizardmen book on what different colours signify. White was supposed to be the rarest and show the true favour of the Old Ones
Hashut’s Blessing:
I vaguely recall that part about white, AGPOAlso, the red-crested skinks were Sons of Soki or whatever his name was…
AGPO:
Sotek wasn’t it. Great crested skinks could ride cold ones, purple were psychotic I think. I can’t look it up asmy WDs from the time are in storage
WarplockMonkey:
Well…because i am nice, i’ll give you them all!
Red - Sotek, the old one of serpents, blood and anger, the sacred spawning in the game is +1 attack on charge
bluey-green - Tzunki(i think thats how you spell it), the old one of water, makes models aquatic
purple - Tepok, the old one of magic, adds one dispell dice to pool
orange - Chotec, the old one of the sun, when persuing, roll 3 dice and pick the highest ones
yellow - Tlazcotl, the impassive old one, immune to psycology
There are other old ones, but these are the only ones that have colours!
I have finally got pictures, but alas they are quite bad ones :~

So what do you think guys? Do you think the paintjob spoils it?
- Warplock
Ghrask Dragh:
I think the paintjob highlights how good the sculpt is, all the details are there to see and it’s awesome. Maybe there could be some pattern on the feathers?
Nice one Warplock, sculpting like a pro! :cheers
Godbob and his jolly rogers:
i must say warplok thats a nice coulars scheam may i use it for my lizza’s?
Kera foehunter:
sizzlel nice !!!hot colors warplock. love your work
WarplockMonkey:
Thanks for all the compliments!
And im glad that you all like the paintjob! phew
I think my next prjects is goingto be yet another saurus (i dont get much choice! ) but this one is gonna be baddass one
My idea was that he would be perched ontop of a rock or a big carcass (maybe a horse or ogre or something like that, i need ideas), one arm resting on a GW, and a big hunk of flesh, a limb or even a whole soldier in his other hand, with copious amounts of blood :cheers
Because of the bloodyness of the model, i was thinking of Sotek, so lots of snake emblems and a large, forked tongue, and a long, lithe tail. Therefore the preferred ememy would be skaven, i may give him a skaven fur cloak too(this is all to get back at my skaven playing friend who i made the fat-rat for
)
What do you think of the idea so far?
- Warplock
Hashut’s Blessing:
DAMN! That painting is b-e-a-utiful! As mentioned before, it accentuates the sculpt and the colours are a perfect richness and I was, literally, rendered immobile for a couple of seconds when I first saw it because I couldn’t describve how beautiful the purples and blues and overall effect were.
Yes, Sotek was the one I meant, he he he. He wasn’t an Old One, technically. He was created in the same way as all of the other Gods, in the image of an Old One.
If you wish to go with the Skaven enemy thing and the dead model, I’d suggest a packmaster thing in his hand and a rat-ogre on the base… (However, I thought this one was pretty bad*ss!) Instead of a jaw full of teeth, have him with the long, thin fangs of a serpent as well. Maybe have his legs/arms a little stunted as well (but they may just look weird, so maybe not).
Will you put these on 50 by 50 bases and use them as 4 Saurus warriors in gaming terms? they look too big for a 25 by 25 is all and 40 by 40 wouldn’t be right for base sizes…
WarplockMonkey:
Hashuts Blessing: Wowwww, that be a positive comment indeed!
And good ideas about the Sotek Saurus too, i shall try start it as soon as i can
And i like the idea of putting him on a big base (maybe counting as a character, and 3 saurus?) if i ever do rouse myself to do an army, thats 3 extra bloomin foot troops i wouldnt haveto convert! :cheers
I have a new model for y’all, but im afraid it does not belong in here, it being a CD
Check it out in the ‘Showcase’!
- Warplock
Hashut’s Blessing:
You’re most welcome. It was well-earnt. I think the stunted legs could be pulled off well, but short arms may look a little “spacky”, really. Can’t wait to see it all
If you did want to use the Saurus as 4 models, have that and some large lizards (no bigger than kommodo sized
) on the base and have that count as normal foot troops. Maybe have random skinks on the bases too. Just to take up some space on a 50 by 50 base. But, it would save you time
Not that i don’t want to see more sculpts etc!
I’ll have to go have a look at this CD of yours…
WarplockMonkey:
Well chappy chaps, work has started on the Sotek-Saurus…well…the base of him, ive used an old metal rat-ogre (bought at a car boot for 50p ;)),but it on its back and re-positioned the feet to be flat on the floor. I dont want it to be dead, more wounded, the saurus delivering the final, over head blow. I also plan to put a swarm of serpents biting at the felled creature, and some larger ones to symbolise the 3 extra saurus the base is taking place of. As for the random skinks Hashut’s Blessing, the rat-ogre takes up most of the base, and with all the serpents i dont want it to be too bust, and distract the viewer away from the actual model itself, the saurus.
Also, work has begun on the saurus’ great sword, which will(hopefully) look something like this, pardon the cr*ppy Paint drawing :P:

As for the saurus, instead of doing the legs short, im going to make him have long, lithe limbs, with wirey strength in them. Also, a forked tongue and fangs, a small crest, a long, slender neck and more regular, smooth scales.
I usually dont post WIP pics, but would they be appreciated, or should i just wait untill the model is finished?
snyggejygge:
Great work, one can clearly see how you improved during this time.
Paintjob is nice even though I don´t like blue lizardmen.
Hashut’s Blessing:
Good find and the final blow sounds cool. The skinks idea was more of a just in case the base looked a little empty, but by the sounds of those critters etc, it seems to be enough. I’m tempted to ask for a WIP, but I think I’d rather see it all at once. That is a VERY nice sword. Also, thin limbs sounds very good actually. My idea was more to show the disappearing limbs, much like the way snakes evolved, but your way seems more serpentine. Good to hear about the scales, aslo, make them less thick ("height"wise), which should help. Will you include a pack master in his grip or will it be a two-handed sword? Also, will the crest be akin to a cobra’s?
WarplockMonkey:
Hashut’s Blessing: I was planning on doing that with the scales, maybe intead of having them all spikey, just having two rows of potruding scales down his back and tail, and making the rest of them smooth, rounded and flat. And the sword will be two handed, so there will be no room for a pack-master in his grip. However, if i can find room, i will maybe place him on the floor, or maybe just leave a hand sticking out of a carpet of snakes.
And as for the cobra-crest, how would i go about doing it?
Dino:
Why the heck haven’t I been responding to this log for a while? Bad Dino.
Just one word comes to my mind when I see your old blood. HOLY F-ING CRAP THAT THINGS LOOKS REALLY AWSOME! I seriously wish I could sculpt like that. I envy you and your really incredible sculpring talents.
Hashut’s Blessing:
That sounds quite cool
As for the hand sticking out, will it be the stereotypical fingers outstretched, hand straight up, covered to the wrist? I guess without the model to hand (as you got the ratogre so cheaply, but on its own) it’s better to do the hand or nothing. What sort of crest did you originally have in mind? As for a cobra one, you could use a foil (like toothpaste tubing
wallacer:
The saurus great sword looks terific, although it will be a hard thing to sculpt.
