[Archive] What is the population of Chaos Dwarfs in The Dark Lands?

Henroth:

In all the territory of The Dark Lands, wath is the population of Chaos Dwarfs?

In my opinion, we must knowledge really how many Chaos Dwarfs are things.

My option is: 10,000 CD’s

:hat off

Kera foehunter:

i have to say 40 000 if not they would be over ran by the other armys

Loki:

I have to say more than 40,000, for a start we never really know how many of any race that is in the warhammer world elves and dwarfs are meant to be in their twilight years their races are on the decline and their once mighty empires gone, but their is always loads of them around when ever you need them, with the dwarfs they have lost so many holds and lives to goblins, orks and skaven, chaos dwarfs do not have this problem as they just enslave them and bend them to their will, so would stand to reason that they do not lose as many of their number in battles as their Weston cousins meaning that population growth would be higher.

demi_morgana:

I vote for 3000 - in the middle ages populations were much smaller

chrixter:

If the CD society is run by approx 200 sorcerers I guess it really boils down to how many dwarf there is bound to each “house”. My guess is 50 which would lead to a total dwarf pop around 10k.

Ronshank:

I went for 40k but I could easily have gone for more. it’s relative how many can be bound by a house. It depends on the strength of the house and I’m sure the number of sorcerers fluctuates

Allanp:

i went for around 20k. i may be wrong being new to the wonder that is cd society :D. but to me it seems logical that the cities and dwarf empire is vastly populated by slaves. behind these slaves and mercaneries you will have a much smaller number of more important and more powerful dwarfs.

so, to me, it seems about right to have 20,000 dwarfs bossing about and beating many more thousands of slaves

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Question before I vote…Are these JUST the Chaos Dwarfs, or the combination of CD’s and Hobgoblins?

Swissdictator:

I’d have to say well over 40,000 Dawi Zharr. The warhammer world seems a lot more populated then our world was in the 800s-1400s, judging my some fluff and the art. With that taken into account… it strikes me the Chaos Dwarfs would have at least a million people to be an Empire of any note…

That’s just my impression at least.

Henroth:

Tarrakk Blackhand
Just the Chaos Dwarfs.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Ok, I’d say 40, 000. If you factor in the map from “Warhammer Present : Chaos Dwarfs”, the land of the CD’s starts in the south at The Sea Of Dread and extends Northward to The High Pass, Eastward to The Moutains of Mourn and West to The Desolation of Drakenmoor and the Cd’s are supplying the Ogres and Warriors of Chaos…yeah, there’s GOT to be that many out there and in their own home lands.

Kera foehunter:

ok it 40,000 and me!!

Tarrakk Blackhand:

So 40, 001 for Kera.

WoodenPickles:

I cant vote because if I establish a number I wont stop until I have that many minis.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

LOL! I know how you feel!

Kera foehunter:

so mr pickles you need 2 more figures to get 40 000

WoodenPickles:

actually i only have the 9 Chaos Dwarfs from my three current hellcannons, but that will change soon.

Kera foehunter:

well get cracking !!:hat off

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Someone please donate him a BFSP set! LOL!

wallacer:

I said 20,000. I base that on the fact that the Warhammer world is essentially a medieval one, the CD only have one city, and that city does not appear to be particularly large.
