I don’think I can approve a Halfling slave…
Lets just count it as the start of a Halfling army ;p

Don’t let that slave escape! Send out the wolf riders!!!
Well ironically, there WILL be a heap of Halflings in this BATG edition…
I think I have him…languishing in the grey of course.
And this time, in already the 39th edition of the Artisan Contest, the goal was all about wizards.
The focus of the contest is about the trials, infamy and potential misfortunes that befalls the Chaos Dwarf (or Hobgoblin) magic users on their path to greatness. Now, based a bit on turn to stone / let’s build a dreadnought for them principle, I went through some bits and pieces.
I still had that Cygnar light warjack I picked up a while ago on Vinted for the very cheap, and this would become the base of my deamonsmith. The general idea is that he isn’t suffering from the Curse of Stone (yet) but that he just blew half his body to smithereens trying to hammer together the next best demonic powered warmachine invention.
So, what better solution then for the unfortunate deamonsmith then to infuse his broken body into the mechanical construct he has been making, including a big forgehammer to keep his infernal work going!
So the parts came generally from three sources: the above mentioned warjack, a spare head from the Blood Bowl sprues of the recently released team with a 3d printed big hat, and a hammer from some I believe Mantic set I still had lying around. The shield is the coin from above mentioned Blood Bowl set, which I don’t use anyways.
Some kitbashing and cursing later, and Barchum the Iron-welded was born, whom I deliberatly based on a 50x50 base so I can add him in games of The Old World as a unit filler for the warrior regiments.
Time to bring some of the models to the table, as I will soon start a solo campaign for The Rusty Dagger.
And the Wolfbaneart figure will be my terrifying hero
A bit of a small update for the past month on the (re)painting of the collection, but every step counts.
Next instalment will have quit some additions though…
The first 20 of 180 Oatmark Orcs, which make excellent Hobgoblins (as their D&D origins in the 80s always described them as goblins, but bigger and more build like a man). This first unit will carry hand weapons and shield, but I’ll also be building boxes of them as archers, and with spears for the T9A rules where they have that option.
We brought our Chaos Dwarfs to the field of battle this weekend, helping out to test the rules for a “border patrol scale” tournament end of september.
In the first game, we faced the Beastmen, with a lot of impact hits that would be coming my way…
Finished painting that most trustworthy of allies a Chaos Dwarf would want, a regiment of Sneaky Gitz
Slow and steady, as magma flowing down the mountains, we continue restoring the army to it’s full glory and beyond. So time for the monthly update
I didn’t get them painted for a Golden Ticket I’m running today (heck, I’m off to it in 2 hours from now) as the varnish still needs to be applied, but finished a new band for Underworlds.
The idea is to use them fluff wise as an advanced slave party to pave the way for the upcoming Chaos Dwarf warband in the game, and to that end painted them up in the colours of my army itself.
They’ll get an outing in the next tournament though in september, and while I build them a suitable in character (but not at all tournament winning) deck, Da Kunnin’ Krew will get a moment in the spotlight as such… let’s say Krookgrin the Hobgrot was the reason I decided to do this.
So I painted them up as such in the colourscheme of the army itself, blending them nicely with the rest of the force.
The latest to the army, a Fabelzel Magama Cannon joins the line up, with crew kitbashed from Norba miniatures bodies and Mantic Games arms.
Painted this one up for some TOW tournaments I’ll be attending end of november and end of december, and have my warmachines on the correct bases as such.
The struggles in the League continue, as we faced the high armoured, resilient Nurgle team this round…
With the imminent release of the Hellsmiths of Hashut, let’s have a trip through nostalgia lane and look back at the first ever army book (and well, only) for the venerable Chaos Dwarfs…
My 500 points army of Chaos Dwarfs, ready to march to battle next sunday at the Border Patrol in Ekeren tournament.
I’ll make a full tournament report as usual later this week, but today I participated in a 500 points “Border Patrol” event.
Using the army above, I went into battle for 4 games and… two wins, a draw and a loss later, this nice piece of silverware now is standing in the cabinet!
Glory for Hashut!
Congrats man!
The force keep growing
