Let us know if you snuck in any final painting (or buying) for the end of the year! Looks like you’re teed up for a nice medal. Ping me if you’ve finished your updates so I can assign the proper medal.
Yeah, I did paint up some more stuff, but once again I was slacking on the pictures…
So here’s a little picture update:
Lets start with some more Minihammer!
Since the last update some units were expanded, and more were added to my army:
Most units were upgraded to have multiples of 6 models, since 6 is the number of the one true Chaos God, Slaanesh.
One more Doggie, that’s not really interesting for the pictures ;p
Upgraded my Warriors to 12 models + command Group:
Upgraded the Marauders to 24 models + Command Group:
Shrine of Slaanesh:
2 Chaos Spawns:
And then my favorite, 2 units of 6 Forsaken by Slaanesh:
This was a very fun unit for me to build, since they’re all converted. And Minihammer minis are very tiny!
So for the numbers that’s:
Bought and added to the pile: 131 (+21)
Painted models: 225 (+33)
Painted scenery: 11 (+1)
Current Score: -105 (-13)
And the the final project of the year; Silver Bayonet.
Somehow me and some friends dove hard into Silver Bayonet. Some cool Napoleonic models fighting monsters, so also a cool reason to dig out some random stuff from my closet.
First my warband:
Officer Bertus Vector and Tactician Aloisius Scuter:
Occultist Sijntje Barlebaens and Sapper Emmer Borluet:
Guard Krijn Gardinius and Doctor Sebertus Batselaere:
And finally the two Infantrymen Claes Dronkine and Janus Corbeel:
Then I also worked on some monsters:
3 Ghosts:
A Skeleton and a Revenant:
A Possessed:
With a Demon:
And a Werewolf:
Random road marker:
Some docks, a little boat and monster fish:
And some farm animals/light cover:
So here are some random in game pictures:
Bought and added to the pile: 143 (+12)
Painted models: 241 (+16)
Painted scenery: 27 (+16)
Current Score: -125 (-20)
Finally some random stuff from the last weeks:
2 Killer Chickens for a special scenario in Conquest:
And a template for Old World Bolg gave me for his birthday:
Bought and added to the pile: 144 (+1)
Painted models: 243 (+2)
Painted scenery: 28 (+1)
Current Score: -127 (-2)
Awesome mini forsaken!
Finally to close off the year/thread, a little review.
It was a weird year miniature-wise. After the initial disappointment of Old World I focussed on a lot of other stuff. But seeing all the new people at tournaments refocused me and might give me some new enthousiasm for 2025.
Lets see how I did on my plans:
-
Paint up an evil MESBG army.
No problemo, finished 800 pts of Far Harad camels. Unfortunately with the new edition these guys are moved to the Legends rules, so won’t get an official update… -
Paint up a Malifaux crew.
As I said, a bit of a cheat since I already did most of the work when I made the list. Still have some more models for this crew, so I might revisit this. For now the rules are too involved to really play the game again. -
Paint up an Old World army.
I didn’t paint a new army for Old World (yet), but I did rebase most of my Night Goblins. Maybe I’ll get to this in 2025. -
Paint up a Conquest army.
Nope, didn’t have time for this. -
Painting more Tyranids.
Yeah! Painting up a whole sneaky army for a tournament. Haven’t played 40k since then, but looking forward to more in the new year! -
Paint up the Horizon Zero Dawn boardgame.
Still a fan of the game, just didn’t get to it. -
Paint up some Walking Dead: All out War models.
Dug out my collection to see what I have, but didn’t get to the painting stage. -
Paint up the 40k Boarding Actions terrain set.
Started work on a few parts, but wasn’t too happy on how they’re looking, so back to gathering dust. I might host a Kill Team/40k campaign in the new year, so that would give me a hard deadline on this stuff.
So yeah, more red than green check marks, but I’m still happy about the stuff I painted. I tried to paint with a deadline less, and that kind of worked. Also meant I painted up more random stuff instead of finishing armies for tournaments etc. We’ll see how it turns out for the new year.
On to 2025!
these are gorgeous @bas_2312 Really awsome choises of colours!
and these too! awesome nids!
