Most of the other races have nice artwork for them on the main GW site. We obviously don’t.
May I suggest that we start gathering CD artwork here?
Obviously we’re not encouraging breaching copyright or anything like that, it would just be handy to have it all gathered together in one place.
The reason I suggest it is that I type up my own army lists (don’t like army builder) and usually stick some pictures in there to fill in the gaps.
This compilation of Chaos Dwarfs and various evil Dwarves and Assyrian-style Dwarves also serve as an image salvage backup, would any of the artworks disappear from the Internet due to sites shutting down or other reasons (a lot of these homebrew artworks were compiled during the infamous 2017 Photobucket crisis, for instance). You can likewise find all artworks backed-up here as well:
I wanted to do my own take of a Immortal. I hope this is the right place to upload it!
“When a warrior ascends to the vaunted rank of Immortal,
A helm and visor will be made carrying his visage.
When he takes his place at Hashut’s table it will rest alongside his remains in the great necropolis underneath Zharr-Naggrund.”
My latest project - Grobi Hunt! I realized it was time to paint some bullcentaurs. Here they are enyoing a traditional dwarfish past time, hunting grobi!
Fantastic illustrations @forgefire, very unique in style and inspiring! They remind me a lot of illustrations you would find in history books, something vaguely Persian or Parthian there. Did you use historical references or is this completely “homebrew”?
Thank you! I would say heavily inspired by the ancient history books and Admirals mesopotamian thread
But i havent had used any images for reference except for a bull in this case.
Thread note: I have half a ton of new community artworks for Chaos Dwarfs of all kinds. They will get uploaded later on in bulk, when time and energy permits.
In the meanwhile, please feast your eyes on this new creation:
Artwork by the talented artist Igor Levchenko, who has a deft hand at capturing classical painterly styles with vivid life. Description by him:
"Based on the concept art of Mathias Rizell (a.k.a. KarakNornClansman [@Admiral on CDO]). He is the one who introduced me to the concepts of Byzantine Skaven as well as Kegiz Gavem—Ethiopian dwarves. In the course of “9th Age project” he presents re-imaginings of real historic peoples as dwarven cultures from Warhammer fantasy universe. Abyssal Dwarfs of the Barren Mountains are analogous to the Hittites.
