Hello everyone!
I wanted to ask for advice on converting the Helsmiths of Hashut. I’m thinking of changing the hats to look more like the ones in the Old World. All exta bits are from the AOS Chaos Warriors set. I’m hesitant because, on the one hand, I want the hats to look like the ones in the Old World, but on the other, I don’t want to ruin the original sculpt.

Youre not ‘ruining’ anything, youre making YOUR miniatures the way YOU like them.
No one is gonna get mad or think you ruined the original sculpt: cutting, shaving, removing, drilling, gluing, replacing, bending, adding, kitbashing is all part of the hobby.
Personally I know I would never have a beardless chorf and I doubt anyone would think I ruined a mini by adding a beard to it hehehe
This is a great mock up here, I really like that horns and spike you’ve added I think it just adds to mini and makes it better
I specifically chose a beardless head for the experiment. My plans include adding more skulls to the armor and beards, spikes to the shoulder pads, and changing the weapons to axes and hammers and the shields to round ones.
I don’t really care what my opponent will think when they see my chorfs on the table. It’s more of an internal struggle. I really like the new Helsmith release, but I also have a particular fondness for the old design. It’s hard to get miniatures in my region, so I won’t be able to make both versions depending on my mood. I’d just like to see some support here for one path or another.
If you dont feel really strongly about either of the options, leave it to chance. Use a coin to decide.
Either you get what you wanted, or you realize that the option you got doesnt sit well with you.

That name, even with an innocent explanation, is very problematic indeed. I really hope something has got lost in translation because if it has not it is definitely not welcome here
I find usernames are easily missed when I view on my phone… for whatever reason I kind of skim over who posted what and then realize after-the-fact that I’ve responded to one of the forum’s usual suspects acting like I don’t know they are.
This is my old nickname, which I’ve used many times before. If it violates the community rules and causes a negative reaction, I’ll change it, no problem. Just tell me how. I’m not going to agitate anyone or express my opinions off-topic. Only miniatures, only Warhammer.
