Nice painting! Cool room and not least congratulations on landing a job with Black Library. Best of luck, and great going in Nottingham!
I completely get that. It is working. My colo(u)r scheme has always aimed to be a grittier, slightly darker, but still colorful take on the bright Red, Blue, and Yellow 4th Ed colo(u)rs.
The maps and stiched CD logo (looks awesome) really add some nice ambiance to your workspace. Would love to do that to mine, but it’s a corner of communal space, so would have to be very subtle.
Cheers!
Why walk when you can ride? Nice hobgoblins there and congratulations on the job
Great jobs there¡¡ Love all the units, keep them coming¡
I really want that cross stitch!!!
Its been a long time since I posted on here (sorry!) - but I thought I’d pop on here just to write the last bits (for now) of my army.
As some of you may have seen on my Instagram I finished* my Chaos Dwarfs army earlier this summer. Here is a link to my army photo shoot I did after finishing painting the last model.
I started collecting the army back in 2017, and wanted to stick to the big hats only - no 3rd party models etc. Thankfully for the most part, prices back then weren’t as crazy as they are these days and I was able to build up a nice section of the force early on. As time went on I got my painting recipe nailed down, and got a little tidier with my painting skills, and it really was a labour of love working on the army. There weren’t definitely a few sculpts I didn’t enjoy so much painting, but for the most part all the countless hours spent painting with my headphones on listening to audiobooks were awesome.
*For now the army is finished. My goal had always been to get a Chaos Dwarf army that would comfortably allow me to field a variety of units for 6th edition fantasy (though I’d love to try 4th/5th sometime). I played a few games over the summer and quite frankly got my ass kicked aha. I don’t mind so much, but it did make me think about some more additions I need for my army. In future, I’d like to field a regiment of 10 bull centaurs (I currently have 7), and I’d like to get 5 more Hobgoblin Warriors to bring my count up to 20. I also intend on adding a regiment of Black Orcs to give some proper punch, but I haven’t thought about a unit count yet…
As you may have seen, I also spent much of this year working for Black Library as a production scheduler. My job was effectively as a mid-level project manager for production and release timelines for all BL products (Physical Books, eBooks, Audiobooks and Merch). It was a really great experience working there - but the job was a fixed term contract (for maternity cover) that finished earlier this month, so for now I’m unemployed. I do have 2 interviews lined up this week with GW so fingers crossed I land one of them!
Good luck for the interviews, I hope they go well.
How have I never seen this blog before? I must be slipping.
Such an epic army, everything here is breathtaking. The lamassu with the dark skin and the white hair is a particular highlight, it’s so striking.
Good luck this week mate
Cheers mate, good to hear from you! Seeing your army on Instagram is always are delight.
Bummer that you were on a fixed contract, best of luck for the interviews. Usually having a foot in the door is the greatest asset, I’m sure you’ll do good.
Good to hear from you @Filmdeg !
Good luck with the interviews.
Oh, too bad it was only temporary. Still, seems like great xp to put on your resume.
Will you start a second chaos dwarf army, like oxy did?
Once you got the foot in the door… Good luck!
