Forum Maintenance: Read-Only Mode for Update

Hey everyone,

I’ll be performing a forum update soon, but Mondays aren’t ideal due to our automatic backups running Sunday night. While I can make manual backups, doing everything in one go is risky. Instead, I plan to put the forum into read-only mode tonight (Monday at 19:00 UTC), make a backup, and then start the update process tomorrow morning.

What This Means:

  • Starting Monday at 19:00 UTC, the forum will be in read-only mode. This means that no new posts or updates can be made except by admins.
  • Tuesday at 08:00 UTC, I will begin the update process.
  • By Tuesday 15:00 UTC at the latest, I aim to complete the update and restore normal functionality or restore a backup.

Why Read-Only Mode?

This ensures that no data is lost during the update. If anything goes wrong, I can restore the latest backup without losing any posts.

Update failed once more, but ive pinpointed the issue and will talk with the staff to find a sollution.
