Ok, another “bug” found. Apparently MyBB allows identical thread names (
) and discourse doesn’t (
) so when the API returns that specific error i suffix the subject with (n) where n is a number starting at 1. I HOPE THERE ARENT MORE THEN 9 TOPICS WITH THE SAME NAME… I was too lazy to implement a single and double digit check

Fingers crossed there aren’t many duplicate named threads. Great going @MichaelX . Got flu at the moment and no energy to check up on the new uploads, so fingers crossed it all turns out fine.

i (temporarely?) enabled the setting to allow ALL CAPPS POSTS on discourse.

We can enable after migration if needed.

Today I saw a link that was matched wrong. Don’t know how it happened because others were correctly changed.
Maybe we can create a thread after all Is migrated that non staff members can post errors/markup mistakes that staff can fix.
Bad idea or not?

If a link points to discourse but it’s wrong, that’s a bug.
But yes, maybe wait a bit longer. Maybe until we are at 50% at least
I FEEL LIKE IT WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR INDIVIDUALS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE OVER THE SHEER NUMBER OF POSTS. MAYBE IF WE RESTRICT IT TO MINIATURES SHOWCASE TYPE THREADS, THAT WILL BE THE BEST SOLUTION.
I didn’t really mean to do it as an active thing, more like “hey I found this while browsing but only you fancy staffers can edit those posts” thing
ah I see! Yes, I think in a few cases we might even see people seeking to restore the best blogs. it’s so great having them brought back to people’s minds, I’m sure we’ll see lots of exciting things.

I THINK i fixed the last bug. There was this rare case where posting failed and i just figured out why. Lets see of it keeps running now.
Also… in about an hour or 2 well be at the 10% mark.

I fucked up 
i deleted all the processed, so now the tool thinks it has to start over.
I tried rebuild the table from discourse but it changes part of the message and that causes me to not be able to mach them.
Im considering starting over but doing it a bit differently.
I’m considering doing all the parsing first, then start to upload it after. And keep track of what i uploaded in my local DB so i don’t need to poll Discourse as much.
It will be faster in the end, but it SUCKS

Its already reset. And its about 3 times faster, on average. So instead of 22 days minimum we are now looking at 6.6 days minimum. Non stop that is. Still… much faster
