"In which we imagine EvilFuzzyDoom happy" [BATG 2024]

Oh boy. I knew the moment I hit “post” on that one that I was lying to myself - but here I am, nonetheless!

Thank you! I’m nearly on to more rusty terrain, too…

For today, though - Death Guard!

I’ve been holding off on posting these because I wanted to post them all in one go. There’s a bit to get through!

First up, a very warmly-lit and very low-ranking commander model:

A simple kitbash using the shoulder armour and under-arm helmet from the Horus Heresy Command upgrade sprue. An easy start. The face looks excellent when not lit like this, I swear.

I miss my lightbox.

Next though, a pair of Rapier Quad Launcher crews who have suffered a little from a phone camera filter to make them less warm:

I had to do a little bit of repair on the quad launchers, since the back seats were missing when I got them. I used teeth off the Solar Auxilia dozer blade as the rear rails, and I ended up using a massive pin to hold the models onto their bases. Sadly I couldn’t preserve the lovely bases they came with, and redid them to match the rest of my armies.

The crew were built from basic Mk6 Heresy marines and some Land Raider crew which I had lying around. I also used some brass rod drilled into the top to make the gunners seem more gunner-y.

Finally, a ten-man Tactical squad:

I mostly painted these guys over the weekend, but they spent a while on my desk waiting for their bases to get finished off. I’ve decided I like the Mk3 marines better than Mk6, because while beakies are awesome, the bonding studs on the shoulder suck.

The heavy weapons squad is still on the painting desk. While I intended to take a bunch of time off this week and get a lot of things finished, that hasn’t eventuated. So, they’re waiting.

Here’s a group shot for the time being:

Today though, I can proclaim a delirious fifteen models off the pile.
