Saw this poster on an olde movie site.
And then there was none
Now we know why they are all gone.
Good find!
That movie was hardcore. Seriously, I think all of us who grew up in the 1980s or early 1990s are psychologically scarred. “Children’s” movies were a lot scarier than now, and not in the cool way.
Right? Ive seen it many times. It left a huge impression on me back them. Big feelings!
I can’t even remember anything specific but it def. elicits a strong emotional response.
I know what I’m watching tonight!
If possible also watch Disney’s “The Black Cauldron” it is a nice dark fantasy adventure not as good as The Last Unicorn but worth a watch.
It terrified me when I was 6 and I couldn’t stop watching it.
It seems I was destined to like chaos dwarfs.
I have never seen it. Too old for kids movies in the 80’s. Just loved the flaming bull and thought it should be here
I also missed this, somehow.
But that for sure is Hashut ready to trample the last Unicorn into the mud.
Good stuff.
TRAMPLE. That is exactly what I thought
Dizzamn, just finished watching it (it’s on the YouTubes if anyone wants to check it out). What a sad and wonderful story. Turns out my wife read the book, she was like “oh yeah, it’s a real sad story”. I was sure I could handle it, but I’m very impressionable, so I had to stifle a tear within the first 30 seconds
Will have a look at the Black Cauldron next. Getting some progress on my infantry guys:
The books are way better though (in my opinion), Lloyd Alexander’s “The Chronicles of Prydain”.
My father read them to me and my brother when we where kids, so it may be that my opinion is skewed. Been planning to reread them at some point but haven’t gotten around to it.
Swedish cover of the first book:
But the movie is well worth a watch.
Yes I confirm the books are a great (dark) high fantasy epic for kids with good character developments.
Another 1980s gem. I feel like the kids today are being done a disservice by animation.
Like Black Cauldron…
