Im looking for advice on methods to make chwarves hats. I know green stuff is good for it obviously, but also I seen something a while ago showing using small pipes. Or would it be good to use like chaos space marine legs or something?
Any idea what this hat might be? I was thinking a vase from a doll house. Also thanks so much its a great resource
Just jump into the greenstuff sea, the water is warm and it’s fun in here. All you need is some putty and a pin, there are endless YouTube videos to watch, sculpting is extremely satisfying. Although I think tamiya epoxy putty is a far superior putty in every way and the only reason people ever used greenstuff in the first place was the high temperature of the valcanised rubber used for spin molds so there is no reason to put up with its vagaries as an amateur.
I’ve seen that build and wondered about it as well, the base model is I think a 5th edition WFB dwarf warrior, the nose I assume is sculpted, but the hat I have no idea.
Yeah I mean i will be doing green stuff but like, as many things as I can make with different things without it idk its cool.
I have been kitbashing for a lil while now, i will probably switch to milliput when my greenstuff runs out cause its so hard to work with
Awesomeness, the sky is the limit if you’ve got some green stuff to smothe the chop marks, I love your idea of using CSM legs, they have the arrow patterns already, I’m going to try that out for the mounted sorcerer lord I’m building, I stuck basically an entire 4th ed CSM helmet on top of the hat of my foot sorcerer and it’s looks great. Milliput is good, it has a flowery texture that can be annoying, but seriously once you’ve tried the Japanese stuff u will never go back.
Wouldn’t a csm legs be a bit too tall for a chorf ?
They are chaos dwarfs. I don’t think you can make their hats too tall.
Oh, thats one of my old creations… If I recall the drop shape was made using a small wood bead and a toothpick to make the center. Then made the dropshape with milliput, use plenty of water so smoothen the edges. And fine sandpaper to fix any odditys. ![]()
Could very well be Green Stuff instead of Milliput, but you can sand Milliput alot easier.
Did you sculpt the dose as well?
Not sure what you mean?
Think he meant “nose”, but that’s just a guess. ![]()
Nose. That’s the word I mean.
I tried the chopped leg, it didn’t look good on top of the plastic hat unfortunately ![]()
Ah, doh… @fate_of_bjuna Jupp, if you search deep in the archives you’ll find the secrets. ![]()
