Recently I decided that I would try my hand at 3d modelling some Chaos dwarf war machines as the free models currently available and I wanted to make a contribution to the community. This is my first attempt at 3d modelling and Evil Dwarf Mortar of Doom by V3rninator - Thingiverse is the dreadquake mortar I made. I will continue to post any edits and new models I create. Tips and criticisms welcome
Thank you for the feedback. I agree the proportions were off I just couldn’t work out what it was before you pointed it out. I have fixed the proportions aswell as improved the general look of the model.
My only question is…. When can I print?
The mortar is available to download from the thingiverse link at the top of the thread.
I intend to add a pre-supported version very soon as the train bottom can be very awkward to support
That mortar belongs on my blimps, and shall be placed there
My latest project: K’daai Destroyer
I have had some problems exporting it but it should be up on my thingiverse very soon
Hey mate,
You should do some better renders. Even a blender viewport with cavity enabled will make it look MUCH better.
Thanks for the tip. TBH I currently just screenshot it in chitubox (the slicing software for my printer)
I know, but it doesnt do any model justice. Even a wip looks infinitly better in blender
Very! You can actually see what it is!
I like it. You could try to smooth out the sharp corners of the “not quite spherical/cylindrical” bits to make it a bit more organic, and maybe a luttle battle damage… but its quite good as is!
Cheers for the feedback, sometimes it can be hard to see errors until others point them out. I’ve implemented your suggestions
Here is the link to download: Fire Incarnate by V3rninator - Thingiverse
Its done and available to download at: Fire Demon by V3rninator - Thingiverse
Variants coming soon hopefully
Hi, good work
I think the chains will be nigh impossible to print. They need to be beefier!
I’m planning on trying my hand at creating part swaps to go with existing GW kits to allow kit bashing. Is there any models in particular people would like first?
I think the evolution in this thread from your first model to this is quite impressive, keep it up! The K’daai looks good although a bit more ornamentation on the armour would go a long way to make the model more interesting by creating a contrast to the more organic flame and rock shapes.
I personally would love to see some (big) hats. There are free ones available but can you ever have enough hats?
I agree 100%. @Admiral once told me to “add more detail, and when you think you have enough… add some more!”
