New Chaos Dwarf & Hobgoblin Plastic Blood Bowl Team

Never understood what was that ball all about, to be fair

Throwers tend to be modelled with a ball (or Goblin/Hafling if they throw them). None of those on a CD team!

I’ll ask me FLGS to get me the entire package: team, bulls, character and magazine :pc05:

And with him the classic Chaos Dwarf team including Star Players is completely redone.

I have to say, this is one sexy team! Really happy with the Re-imagination.

That’s a great model. Probably too pricey to make a whole unit of them for Warhammer.

I’m still wondering if those horns are purely decorative parts of their hats or are sprouting out of their heads.

L O L. Yeah, probably :joy:

Should be decorative. CD usually have smaller stubble-like Horns on their brow, not large ones on the side. You can see them on the helmet-less head of this flame-spouting guy.

He’s a great unit champion though. Just like the hobgoblin. Pricey in resin and the ball could do with removing but i doubt that will be too hard.

I forgot it would be resin. I also suspect he’ll be on the large side.

Blood Bowl seems a different scale from WFB. (Or maybe it’s the same scale as modern AoS and I just haven’t kept up.)

I think they are all 32mm these days…
My old school dwarfs are more like 'flings.

We don’t tolerate height variance in miniatures well enough, when in human reality, no regiment of soldiers is all the same height. Weird, innit?

I think he will be a little big next to 90s infantry but he will stand out no matter what height he is, so don’t worry is my advice.

Those kind of models could work on a 90s army as unit filler, if you glue them on two 20mm bases next to eachother it may works, although I fear the 40mm square one would be the right choice of use

I have been looking into it and thinking: what can we expect to pay for the resin forge world minis?

The answer appears to be between £24 and £32.50 each, including both Bull Centaurs.

The reason for this is the Star Players often come in twos, and physical size is rarely significant in price.

It is possible the BCs might be much more but I expect them to be about £15 each for two.

I had the same conversion in euro in mind
Which is so fucking much for a single model compared to a whole unit who Costs 35/40 euro (which again for 2 sprues of the same 6 models is already 5 euro too pricey for what used to be at BB release 4 years ago)

Up for pre order next weekend!

We’re up for preorder! I don’t know where Rashnak Backstabber is because he’s not… But everything else is!

I hope everyone else is as excited as I am. I don’t even play Blood Bowl yet, but if anything was gonna hook me its this.

Everything about the new Zharr Naggrund Ziggurats heavily respects the classic team. There are two new positionals however, one being a generic player version of Rashnak Backstabber. Nothing really new there.

The other is the Flamesmith. This sculpt looks awesome (minus the lack of hat). He’s drinking what appears to be liquid fire from some caraf. he can breathe fire in the rules. This is an awesome spectacle and very inspiring for Chaos Dwarf religious ceremonies or possibly could have other cultural implications.

What is in the caraf? is it heated by the Flamesmith himself using sorcery or is it more scientific? is it a bound daemon in liquid form? is it an extracted puree of daemonic anger squeezed out in some malign industrial process? can it be mass manufactured? or is it just used by the Flamesmith in Blood Bowl to conceal his use of magic? Could it be used by Chaos Dwarf Warriors, Adventurers, or Slavers to light fires in the wild like a flint and steel? could it be used to cook meats or boil water on the road?

So many incredible possibilities in a little caraf of fire.

I hope WHFR explores the Darklands. I think that’s my best hope at the current moment. There was a brief bit about it in The Imperial Zoo and an entire page about the Great Taurus. I think there would be reason for Cubicle 7 to make a book about the Ivory Road and the Spice Route and inside that book would be a section about us. One can dream.

I hope everyone is well. I am a couple units away from finishing my 10mm Chaos Dwarf army, then Cursed City because Halloween, then I will have time to paint a Blood Bowl Team! Anyone else getting into Blood Bowl because of this release? Anyone refreshing their old metal team with new plastic/resin models?

I took the liberty and moved the post to the existing topic about the new Blood Bowl team.

I preordered mostly because I want to use a few hobgobs for Old World but once I get them all painted up I will def be tempted to play some IRL BB (for the first time.) I mostly enjoyed BB I & II but only ever played against the dumb AI. Losing tackle is a major bummer IMO.

Pre-ordered the team and the Spike magazine for the rules.

By the time I got home, about 2hrs after launch, the regular Bull Centaurs where already sold out, and 40 euro for H’tark was pushing it just a little bit to far imho. Got BC’s enough from other brands teams like Gaspez so I’ll add one of those instead to the line-up I guess
