Paint It Like…: A Chaos Dwarf Painting Tribute

Greetings, artisans of Hashut!

Chaos dwarfs online presents: “Paint It Like…: A Chaos Dwarf Painting Tribute

We all have members in our community whose painting styles inspire us—be it their bold use of color, gritty realism, or darkly atmospheric creations. Now, it’s time to pay tribute to those talents by stepping into their shoes (or boots!) and painting like them!

What is Paint It Like…?

This is a casual painting showcase where the goal is to paint a miniature inspired by the style of a chosen community member. Each quarter, the community votes for a featured member, and participants create pieces that emulate their distinctive techniques and themes.

How It Works:

  1. Nomination & Voting:

    • A poll will feature randomly chosen members from a larger list.
    • The community votes for the “Paint It Like…” subject of the quarter.
    • Once someone has been chosen, they’re removed from the pool until all names have been featured.
  2. Painting Period:

    • Participants have roughly 3 months to paint their miniature.
    • There will be no extensions as there are no prizes. Late entries will still be added but the next comp will already have started.
    • The goal is not replication but inspiration—interpret their style in your own way.
  3. Showcase:

    • At the end of the quarter, participants share their work in a dedicated thread.
    • Celebrate the diversity and creativity of our community!

Important Notes:

  • No Prizes: This event is purely for fun and community engagement.
  • No Pressure: Participation is voluntary, and there’s no competition—just a showcase of Chaos Dwarf-inspired art.
  • Open to All Styles: Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned painter, everyone is welcome to join.

Let’s celebrate the talent within our community and challenge ourselves to paint in new ways!

What do you think? Should we kick off the nominations?

I’ve made a pool using the last Golden Hat’s participants. Please vote on who you would be the first member to be the subject of “Paint It Like…”!

My money is on Vallejo sepia shade or whatever the James Citadellejo equivalent is.

I plan to set up the comp (aka finalize the topic) in a week or 2, should give roughly 10 weeks of time to finish the paintjob.

Having at home some of the emissaries from you guys always made me wonder how the fuck did you do that
Then I remember I don’t use contrast and everything I do is from black base hauahauaha
