This color scheme looks more ToW-ish and less future punk warpstone smoker addicts.
Nice job on these Xander
It’s great seeing the old colours on the new minis.
I must admit though I alo like seeing some of the new colours we aren’t used to seeing, which I suppose makes sense as I used to have mine in either green or bone coloured armour
I do like the helms on these. Instantly nicer to me
What is with the T hats and T shaped weapons?
Certainly this colour scheme much improves them - the original paint scheme made it look like their tech was running on warpstone.
In any case, I find it a bit frustrating that they felt the need to reinvent the look and replace the classic blunderbuss troop look with half-armoured nerfgun fellas.
I would rather convert the melee infantry kit to have blunderbusses than use these because the melee infantry have a more classic chorf look in the full armoured skirt, beard details etc.Though I would also want to replace the hats with more classic ones and possible give them different shoulder armour to help get rid of the weird art deco pressed-sheetmetal look to some elements.
Nice work Xander!
I much prefer this darker red. I might be tempted to do the mesopotamian repeating triangles, but I also like the line.
The silly maces will be the first thing to go for the BC, hammers axes and scimitars will be what I’ll use. Maybe even a few with the hand cannon things.
Out of curiosity, could you Photoshop one BC with the face version, with it’s head dropped a little? They look a fraction too upright imo
Diffirent colours make them look better for sure, I’m more ok with the blunderbusses when they arn’t glowing bright green
Agreed, tho I can see some use for the bodies of that kit as crewmen for warmachines, they have about the right amount of armour for that.
I think the models could perhaps be improved substantially with these changes:
Spear - > axe
Tower shield - > Round shield
Smoothed pauldrons instead of angular and bent
Change hat to a proper chorf hat
Better hats are indeed needed for the infantry. The other ideas are good as well! I’m mostly hyped to see what this discord does with these minis now.
Agreed on the axe and the hat but I think the pavise is growing on me. Reminds me of lost kingdom immortals that I really like with axes and scimitars.
I don’t dislike the new range, it’s true that they’re a bit too angular. But that photoshop design of you makes them even better ^^
I would have gone with the bloodbowl design, they look more oldschool. But it’s GW and we can’t have it all…
I’m about to receive some Fabelzel models soon, very excited!
I think the success of the AOS range would help them decide whether to bring out a CD range in Warhammer old world.
But realistically, given they would probably do a third wave release for aos CD in a couple of years, I’d say we would be maybe 3 years away, minimum, for GW to look to bring them out with another whole new range
Do you guys reckon the arms are attached to the shoulder pads for the combat infantry?
Or that the body and arms down to the wrists (at least in the army set) are monopose?
From my experience with other AoS kits, I would expect that some of the shoulders are part of the arm, some part of the torso, some part of the head and some are separate.
Gone are the days of uniformity where every piece is interchangeable between different models, sadly.
Thanks for the kind comments!
It’s possible the shoulder pads will be separate, they are in the Bloodbowl set.
@Grimstonefire What combination do you want to see Photoshopped for the Bull Centaur? I should be able to do it.
This is more like it. The taurus specially looks a lot better all in black.
But I’m still left with a weird feeling. How come they don’t look like dwarfs to me? Lack of mustaches, small heads, barely a beard for some, a strange lack of details in the faces, they look like little orcs.
Anyone else feels it? Or am I exagerating?
