Thoughts?

Good evening all,

So I suppose you can say I have rekindled my love with warhammer after a break, and finding my old chaos dwarves still in the original bags from forge world, whilst cleaning out the spare room.

2000pts/2000pts

I do have some questions as to where can I get some of these models though! Personally I prefer the forge world models to any others so I am hoping you can help

The sorcerer project on bale tarus I have seen on eBay so am assuming that would be the only place to purchase now or is it able to purchase as 3D printed?

Orc war boss on wyvern I personally prefer the Azhag the Slaughterer version (the newest I would class it as?) but obviously you cannot purchase this from warhammer anymore. So again has this been reproduced anywhere are are they any other warhammer models which you are using instead? I did see the orc boss on maw krusha, would I be able to sue this or would it be a no?

The deathshreiker and Iron daemon I have seen that I can purchase from Etsy with the brand meshymesh are these the exact copies of the forge world ones?

So the idea with this was the orc lord and sorcerer would fly over the table causing havoc essentially, the black orc mob going up the centre with the Iron daemon and the deathshreikers sitting at the back with the Deamonsmith. That’s the general idea which I had come up with but comments and criticism are greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

That list fits with what’s currently regarded as the meta for Chaos Dwarfs. There are certain variations but the main stuff is already there (the two characters in this exact loadout, the iron daemon, min Infernal Guard, Hobgoblins) This will work great!

The dark days without model availability are thankfully behind us and you can find lots of excellent models both in the 90s Big Hat style as well as Legion of Azgorh Style (e.g. Lost Kingdom Miniatures). The Warboss on Maw Crusha is obviously a great choice, it’s just a little big for the base and needs some working around.

For your more explicit questions, please abide by the forum rules concerning breaches of intellectual property.

Apologise if I have breached the rules this was not an intention of this post.

With loads on the sorcerer prophet is able to take armour, understandably he wouldn’t be able to take a magic shield as he isn’t normally allowed to take one. But am I right in thinking magic armour would be alright?

I did see the LOTR Smaug and am actually in awe at that model but cannot find sizing comparisons to help.
The maw Krusha model how much bigger is he as you say he needs working.

Exactly like you said, magic armour is fine for a Sorcerer-Prophet or Daemonsmith but they sadly cannot take shields.

I don’t have the measurements but I know that model is freaking huge. You probably would have a hard time fitting it into a normal game.

It’s a little too big for the 50x100 base, so some (minor) work is necessary to have it sit on some sculpted base. Here is an example how someone did it.

Would armour on the sorcerer prophet be more beneficial than a dispel scroll?

Yeah admittedly I have to agree with the comment of Smaug is huge, it does look it from the picture I have seen. But admittedly it probably is the nicest wyvern model which water has produced….

The way in which the maw Krishna has been done to fit the base is not exactly what I would call ideal personally, I suppose a bit of overlap isn’t really an issue but that does seem to be quite a substantial amount.

Do you have any other suggestions on models, just don’t feel the normal orc boss on Severn really fit the forge world theme with the chaos dwarves

Yes, definitely go for better armour over a dispel scroll.

Not really, no. There are some STLs around, but most seem to follow the more classic Azhag style. Personally I’ll eventually get the Maw Krusha as I always loved that model and now finally have a reason to get it.
