I think someone’s gearing up for their first Golden Hat entry No, I’m really happy with the way this one turned out. I need to cover up the edges once the glue dries and give it a good varnishin’, otherwise this was achieved in like an hour or so.
I’m taking a break now. Banner painting is really tough for my eyes and back

That feeling when there’s too many primed models on your painting desk I gotta clear some of it away to maintain my discipline and sanity
I did however finish some bases, and made progress on some blunderbuss guys:
I have a tournament coming up in a month, and need to have the Taurus, blorcs hobo Khan, new BSB and iron daemon ready until then. The rest is just gravy, for the time being.
Speaking of Iron Daemon, I’m super intimidated by the prospect of assembling it, does anyone have a tip on how to get the wheels straight on the axle? With Skaven it’s ok for everything to be a bit rickety, but with these proud craftsmen I gather they want their s***t straight as an arrow

Nice, very nice.
He’s back in the saddle again.

The previous attempt didn’t sit well with me. I felt like the appearance of the hooves was a bit too cartoony and seemed out of place. I tried to desaturate the colours a bit to mesh better with the rest of the army, and to do a sort of heat effect in the crevices of the beast’s musculature. I like how it turned out, just need to touch it up when I have a better light to work with, since I’m not at home right now.

Ok I’ll probably share WIP again once the rider is on there, and again when the banners are in place, but I can’t contain my excitement. I’m so pleased with how this thing turned out, I’m practically giddy
I was afraid the sculpt would look goofy, but I think I managed to make him look ruddy menacing! The sculpt is from Fabelzel, but I swapped the wings out with the Fabelzel lamassu wings and upscaled it all by 10% to better fit the 60*100mm base. I felt like the “hugging” wings were more threatening than the smaller, sort of flappy wings that is on there per default (those I put on the Brawniac Lamassu, but that’s for another time).
Yeah. Incredibly psyked, and he’ll see table time on Friday - hopefully won’t get one-shotted by a scorpion, or a Necrosphinx, or the light of death Lots of danger ahead

Choo choo! A little bit of a rushed paint job, but it’s ready for an upcoming tournament on the 17th, just need to get the base in order as well.
Credit to @Brawniac for the hat I used to make the smokestack up front, and @Hotstuff (I believe?) for the wheels
Also a pic of my Bale Taurus. I haven’t posted this, since I’m really not satisfied with the rider or his banners, but he’s on there:
I may mix up a Fabelzel character to sit on it instead, at some point, but right now I have other fish to fry. Plodding along!

Some reinforcements to my black orcs. It was a bit daunting, cause I’d completely forgotten the paint mixes I used for these Fortunately a bit of variety doesn’t look out of place in greenskins.
The Fabelzel & Co. black orc does, however, look a bit over-the-top, compared to the others imo. A bit too decked out in armour. Guess he’s the champion now.
I was certain I needed to paint 5 in order to reach the goal of the list I’m building, but apparently - as I realized towards the end of the batch paint - I actually needed 6 I think I may just field an empty base

Thank you ever so much, keep up the good work. Much appreciated
I’m trying out a wolf Khan with ruby ring in the upcoming tournament, so I lathered one in paint over the course of an evening. Unfortunately the print has, I don’t know what to call it, a layer slip(?) that’s really quite noticeable on the axe head. That doesn’t spark joy But hopefully he’ll spark up some chaff units soon, so there’s that.
Next up, I finally got my ogre loader painted up:
He’s ok, but honestly I think I’ll find a way to replace him with this guy in the future:
I think the aesthetic fits better, and I prefer the idea that he’s acting as a bodyguard. The mortar shells I imagine are too volatile to be entrusted to an ogre. The way mine flails them around is making me a bit nervous The ones on his backpack aren’t fastened in any way, either OSHA violation, if I ever saw one.

The day’s hobby output. Put banners on my bulltaur standard bearer (makes his pole look less obscenely long, luckily ), and painted up my new BSB, who is the only original metal chorf in my army. I painted his armour silver, cause I like to outfit him with the armour of silvered steel, so it felt appropriate.

The army is bad ASS.
Never stop.
Never hesitate.
Show NO mercy.
Leave only a path of destruction.
Hashut, Hashut, Hashut…

The Lamassu might not have gotten ready for golden hat, but it’ll be ready for a fight tomorrow evening!
It is of course the @Brawniac Sorcerous Behemoth©, albeit 10% smaller and with some Fabelzel wings.
I went with a flesh face on this, and I’m glad I did, it looks absolutely freakish, imo - perfect! I at first wanted to give him some flesh details like nose and lips, but it went a bit overboard, and I just went with it.
I still need to do up the back banners and clean up some mistakes here and there, but he’s pretty much ready as is.
Praise be, out there

@William done got me convinced
Look who I had the chance to adopt:
Now I just need to find him a suitable wyvern and a shield arm. He’s missing his left arm, but it had an additional hand weapon anyway, so no biggie.

Did I mention how awesome it is to see this? Yes, flesh face works very well indeed!
