[TOW] Let's get competitive

Thanks for reply. I start to play him this way cause cacling blade make so much dmg with him.. but of course: tank build Is more safety: T7 with 3+ save and 5+ ward with GW is more safety option: or armor of meteoric iron with talisman give you 5+ / 5+ save without penalty… On this tournament i would like to use bubble from lamamsu beard 5+ ward and MR 1 against enemy shooting

Is chaos giant with the new T7 viable nowadays ?

I’d love to play with more monsters, but I have some big questions about giants.

I play him once time after upgrade.. And once time i play against him… T7 working really good… He can survive much more… But if you play against him: still working good make a lot of arrows or attack with S3 …

It still dies pretty easily. Last time I killed giant in just 1 turn of combat - infernal guards with fire sticks made some wounds with stand and shoot and rest in melee combat.

But as a damage sponge it works pretty well. Even better with t7

It’s been a proper age since I played, so excuse that please, but I remember that there used to be an option to run with quite a few monsters, including chimera, hydra, manticores, griffons, hippogriff, and even dragons… As for giants, they used to kinda function as a damage sponge of sorts too, I used to play with a giant to draw fire away from other units, like centaurs, so they could declare charges and tear down infantry. How is OW handling monstrous additions? I’m curious more than anything now myself…

TOW hasn’t really changed the way that monsters have been used since 6th edition (I don’t know if the Monstrous Arcanum counts, it seemed to be an excuse to sell more Forgeworld models rather than official rules. Storm of Magic bound monsters were limited to specific scenarios).

Monsters are still mostly just ridden by characters or crew, with only a few exceptions. Each monster is limited to one or two specific armies, in most cases. The most obvious newer addition that comes to my mind is that Warriors of Chaos can take a chimera as a monster unit rather than a mount, I’m not sure if that was the case before.

Scale of False Promise for Taur’ruk. Any ideas?
