What is happening with this Old World stuff - are the rules just a carry forward of 8th Ed Fantasy, is this more like a tweaked 8th Ed, or something else?? Just wondering how useful these older rules will be or if everything is going to need to be converted to AoS type stat lines with that 4-quadrant circle thing, etc?? My buddy and I here still play 8th, so this hardback book sounds perfect, but if it works for Old World going forward that would be great.

First of all, it’s still the game you know. All the stats in the profiles are back, to-hit and to-wound charts, the overall game mechanic is the one you know.
Overall we see largely a mix of 6th and 8th, with some more obscure rules from e.g. Warhammer Ancient Battles.
Please observe that you still need the TOW rulebook to use this legacy army pdf book.

Yep, sounds perfect. Somewhat off-topic, but related - When we did the Chessex dice order for CDO (this is probably going back 12+ years now) there were a number of people who never returned to claim their dice. I ended up with some extra dice, but more than I ever wanted and never got fully reimbursed. Hmm, maybe I should donate a set to a future contest winner or something
