Lego steering wheels of various types can work nicely here on big projects. Also good sourcing for levers.

With the land ship it goes slowly but icher. To cover the gaps on the hull, pipes are now attached. Let’s see how it will look like finished …

You could do demonic shield faces around the hull. I think a few little creatures a la reaver would be cool (like octopi). Cp models have a couple of sea themed mutants.
What about algae, nets and stuff like that and make it look old and distressed. Fire damage?
Little spikes /scythes on the wheels? Chaos runes? Chained up skeletons on the sides? A big skull 
cannon?
Looks really good so far, id like to have a go at one of these myself one day

I just browsed CP Models and found something, hopefully I can actually use the stuff.
You suggested using “demonic shield faces”, do you know where I can get some?!
Macrocosm do some. You probably need to email chris to get them. Osm do loads of different ones. You prob have a few in ur spares box?
Alternative miniatures do a lot of cool little random stuff, worth dpending the time to look at it all. I have a nice sea themed cannon im saving for a project.
Warmonger miniatures do shield faces too, these are pretty nice!

Even though I’m only making slow progress at the moment, I can report a little progress. A demon in the hold - after all, the engine wants to be fed! 
Now I still have to model the mouth with the teeth, then it should fit.

Looking good, its major project you started here… Wish you the best of luck to finish it as well! Would be cool to have the entire hull infested, so that every entry had a few tentacles. Maybe even a few holes were they had broken through?

Since I’m not the best modeler, I ordered something to represent just that. A hull infested with demons (or similar). I hope that the ordered models fit and look good. 
Meanwhile, orders from England unfortunately take a little longer …

The order (CP models) is now complete, now it just needs to be shipped and arrive here in one piece. I’m really curious whether everything fits together and the land ship can appear nice and chaotic!

@Zoddtheimmortal Unfortunately no … I have not noticed at all.
But what the heck, you can support the small manufacturers, because I can do without a discount if necessary if they continue to survive and produce chic models.
Since I had to order colors, I also ordered the Chaos and the Chaos Giant from MOM Miniatures. I’m curious how the models look real and in comparison to the CDs.
Even if the quality of the MOM Miniatures is not up to the highest standards, I like the models because of their oldschool vibe. In addition, there are not too many details, which I find convenient when painting. The size of the models is more than decent, especially compared to the price!
