Zanko`s Army of the Lizard King

Thanks dude! These models are from Heresy Miniatures! Unfortunately, I am not able to create such models … :mask:

After another extremely stressful and busy week, I once again indulged in a lust purchase. I bought a batch of Samurai Dwarfs by Bob Olley. I am not sure if they really fit my Chaos dwarfs, but what the heck, so far (almost) everything has worked out.

Oh i know the ones, time for a new regiment!

I’m just not sure yet how and where to integrate them. Probably as a squad for SAGA-AoM, but I’ll have to see how it all will fit.

So the order from Fenris-Games has finally arrived and now I can (hopefully) finish the landship :+1: … only with the banners I still have to think about something.

A small sign of life, a disturbing monument …

Cool monument! Simple but effective paintjob: It adds a lot to the disturbing factor.

Very good work overall with painting your new adfitions. Impressive!

Here 2 steles, nothing special, but quite nice GW exploitation:

The landship is finished (for now). Except for a few small things that I have discovered on the merciless photos and still have to mend. :annoyed:

Through the different models it should have both a steam punk aspect, as well as something demonic about it. I think I succeeded quite well.Through the different models it should have both a steam punk aspect, as well as something demonic about it. I think I succeeded quite well.

All in all, I really like it, even if it is too big to play with and a bit fragile.

Love the possessed landship zanko. So much going on in it. The gribbleys along the side, the variety of chaos dwarfs inside, some of which i dont recognise. This bad boy would have done really well in an artisans contest. The various constructed war machines you have created over the last decade have been brilliant. How do you top this though? Haha

Thank you for the kind words. :hatoff: As far as more war machines are concerned, smaller things are coming in the near future. I hope that my Grendel order will arrive soon (via a retailer here in Germany) and I can build the planned Chaos Dwarf Fortress. That will be a bigger project again.

At the moment I’m building and painting the next GH entry!

Super cool! The sheer scope of your miniature projects makes me feel humble!

Mind bogglingly awesome.
The scope
The scale
The inventiveness

Brilliant!

The next long-term project I want to tackle (it took me 5 months to build the landship) is a small castle for the chaos dwarves. As a base I use the different dwarf castle parts from Scotia Grendel. On the photo you can see a few of the parts.

As size I have decided on a base plate of 45 x 45 cm. Now I have to get glue, styrodur and other stuff, then the next phase of planning can begin.

I like it already. Will it act as terrain or also be playable in sieges?

Wow! I love the daemon tentacle beasts on the sides, great use of the OSM spare asscannon head as a figurehead too. I need to get myself some bendy straws, very creative. Looking forward to the fortress!

I’m not quite sure yet, I’ll probably try to build the castle so that it can be played with. At least on the walls. If buildings come in (I’m still undecided) they will rather not be walkable.

I reckon some segments could be moved to give a different dynamic on the table top others could be joint together. Hope to see some pretty cool things added to this castle…no pressure!

So far I only have a rough vision of the castle, nothing definitive. Since I do not put myself under pressure, the planning, implementation and completion may take time!
