I’ve been in temporary accomodation so no chance to do any hobby stuff, hoping to get a place of my own soon and settle in London for a year. Not sure if I have the motivation to finish this project now that 9th edition is coming out and things are getting nerfed again. Thinking about selling up and cutting my losses. My worry is 9th will come around and everything will depreciate in value and I wont be able to play legal games with friends or whatever and I’ll be stuck with a huge army nobody wants to buy or play games against. That being said when something gets ‘discontinued’ that seems to make it even more valuable such as Squats or 3rd/4th Edition Chaos Dwarfs. What would you do if you were in my position? Most of the FW stuff is cheap 3rd party stuff so its not like I’ve spent the world, but its still been expensive to assemble.

I feel that you should keep enough of it (2500 points):
1: If forgeworld discontinues Chaos Dwarf range then the value of the minis will go up due to the only way they can be purchased is from second hand people
2: If Chaos Dwarfs are not squatted from 9th edition, then you got a good force to use
3: I doubt you would be able to move that many chaos dwarf models in any reasonable time to get back some of your investment since people are already shaky buying with 9th rumors, and even more so with chaos dwarfs for obvious reasons.
4: You would at least have a Chaos dwarf army albeit discontinued, that you can show your kids, grandkids, or friends, or whatever what you did. Good curio case item. Good for nostaliga for you.
5: It will be worth more in 20 years.

I start a new job soon and move into my new room in a flatshare on Sunday and have a small desk set up there and will be taking some paints with me, so I can start to work up some decent looks. Looking forward to it.

I’ve been buying up some 3rd edition stuff on ebay, I pretty much have 90% of a full collection of 3rd edition stuff now including an original Ass Cannon and what looks suspiciously like a recast Juggernaut. So I plan to make a 3rd edition army alongside my FW army, or even combine them together, not sure yet. Minus bighats I almost have a complete collection of every chaos dwarf model ever made now by Citadel & Forgeworld which is kind of crazy to think about (what it has done to my wallet and the fact I have it all to paint ahead of me) I also ordered another Iron Demon so I have 2 pain trains and one Skull Cracker now in storage, and 3 more Bull centaurs in case I decide to make army lists that use 2 Iron Demons or 6 BC’s.
I saw a really cool K’daai destroyer this week, makes me want to try one out, using the Balrog , especially as I have a spare Lamassu head. I also have a couple spare Lamassu Torso’s lying around and really want to make some bull centaurs the same way with the dragon ogre bodies. I prefer the posing on the dragon ogre kits, and they come with great weapons too. May need to get casting some Taurus/Lammassu body parts. 
The new ‘Warhammer’ store opened on Tottenham Court Road last weekend, its Games Workshops new flagship store, so am planning to start going down to get some games and learn to play fantasy again, as I just moved into the neighborhood about 10 mins walk away.
Avengers is out next weekend in the UK, so go see it and support all our hard work on the VFX by buying a cinema ticket and breaking that world record that the first one made! Next up for me are some smaller action movies for the next couple of months and some short films.

I picked up a real nice 3rd Edition miniature today, I’m using them as Hobgoblin Khans in my 3rd edition army. So far I have one Samurai version and one Hobgoblin Version. The temple dog is such a great touch for the eastern theme the hobgoblins already carry.

This is a pretty ridiculous amount to shell out, makes me feel a bit ill when I look at it all together but on the plus side I now have a 3rd Edition Army as well as a FW army, and I figured it would hold its value and increase in time so is an investment, and I can’t drink or spend the money away. Probably up to around 12,000 points now and I’d insure it all at around £3000-5000 I think.
Whilst pondering these purchases I’ve decided on two things -
i) - I have no life! This has turned into an obsession and I need help! No seriously though I need to get a girlfriend or start saving my money!
ii) - No more buying stuff until its all painted. For real. Now starts the hard work. I’m hanging up my collectors hat for now, no more buying anything hobby related until this is all completed, so expect this to turn into a painting & modelling log now rather than a ‘collecting chaos dwarfs’ log.

Which is coming at the end of the month, and is only costing around 40 euros. That really will be my last one. Then I can make a t-shirt saying I own double ass-cannons and see if it gets me laid!
