Another Golden Hat completed. Sadly yet again my abstract/impressionist approach to miniature painting and sculpting has gone unappreciated. Oh to be so ahead of my time.
This competition was great fun but tainted by tragedy. Igor Igorson , my faithful servant sadly passed during the completion of this task. Therefore in his homour I have put together this brief tribute:
Golden Hat XXX
There are a few half finished projects that could be cobbled together.
Come Igor we have work to do!
Golden Hat XXXI
Fantastic. Taurus, great subject! Flaming… ummm… Igor light the furnace. We have work to do!
Igor informs me that operation ?~Flaming Taurus?T proceeds to plan. Admittedly I have had to pull all resources from other projects. I know there is some muttering in the ranks that the giant squiddly snail cavalry (note to self ?~I must find a more evil name?T) are delayed again. No matter. I must win a Golden Hat medal! All must be sacrificed to this aim! Igor! More slaves!!
The consruction phase of operation ?~Flaming Taurus?T nears completion. Now all that remains is for my artistic genius to be realized by Igor and his slaves?T rather dubious talents. I think examples may have to be made! No matter I have plenty of slaves.
One of mine (slaves) even damaged the project last night. However you reasoning (Abecedar) is flawed. More whipping is needed… to encourage the others (at the very worst so Igor informs me, the extra whipping makes their murals of the finished project a bit blurry which covers a multitude of errors).
Igor informs me that we too are ready for ignition. Finally I can return to the giant sqiddly snail cavalry ( squidails, snailids, squails of Zharr…).
Finally my entry is in. I was hanging on hoping to improve but Igor informs me even with more slaves the improvements would not be done in time.
Artisans Contest
I will soon have to take the Zharrlings to see their aged relatives in the South (the sorcerors curse restricts their mobility). Therefore I must finish the slave project early. Fortunately Igor tells me that the slaves have been purchased and whipped into shape (who says hobgoblins have no sense of humour). They now await my approval and the appropriate livery. Sooooon I will conquer!
Bizarrely enough my entry is in early.
Igor and I have inspected them and they will have to do. So photos in and time to concentrate on the next generation, Hashut help us!
Golden Hat XXXII
AhHa! Hashut requires warriors of ANY sort! Igor, to the laboratory. I have some needlessly painful experiments to perform!
This was to be Igors’ last appearance. Yet Igor was so much more than a faithful servant. He was a teacher. He would impart his knowledge to those who worked with him. Thus it is fitting that even in his passing he provided vital life lessons to his replacement as can be seen in the letter below:
e Admiral
Moderator of Hashut
(All tremble at his name)
Conclave of Sorcerors
Zharr Naggrond
Dear Admiral,
Thank you for your recent letter. With reference to your query about the progress of project ?oWarrior?, I regret to inform you there has been some slippage in the proposed time scale. This has clearly raised some serious questions for the project manager, Igor Igorson. I have of course put Igor to these questions. This was a full and frank discussion and I feel the answers are probably best expressed in his own words:
?oNo.No. Please No.
The forge broke down
We could?Tnt get the parts.
There was a fire.
An earthquake.
A plague of Locusts.
A terrible flood.
I swear to Hashut it wasn?Tt my fault!
Please put that down!?
Igor?Ts response have led me to carry out a root and branch review of our production systems. The reccomemdations of this review have been fully implemented. Therefore from today I willl be taken a personal role in the oversight of the project. The previous management team has been dismembered and replaced. I have installed a new and enthusiastic project manager, Igor Igorspawn (no relation).
These changes are fully expected to result in the project meeting our new demanding deadlines.
I hope this answers any queries or concerns you may have had.
Your Humble Servant
Uther the Unhinged
Sorceror Prophet of Hashut (all tremble at his name)
I know my new servant Igor Igorspawn (no relation) has learned much from Igor. as is evidenced by my timely if unsucessful entry to GHXXXII below
Lovely backstory behind this creation (great writing!) and even greater, wackier creations! Freakishly lovely, and I’m a fan of the back banners. In particular the cranial Rune of Hashut! Excellent touch there, Uther! :cheers
Thanks Admiral. I have gone a bit ?~back banner happy?T recently.
Anyway now that GHxxxii is over and my Lammasid Overlords and Lammasid Slavelord (count as pusgoyle blightlords and lord of afflictions) above, are finished, I can return to more normal(ish) minis.
So behold my second Skullcrusher/Doomharness/Tenderiser. The second part of the?TFlaming Taurus?T
@boyfights: Glad you like him. Don?Tt worry non-normal service will be resumed shortly!
@Gargolck: Thanks. The mace things are parts of my youngest daughters broken plastic jewellery set as are the rollers. She agrees they have found a better home!
@Tjub: Sooon. Trouble is which army? The steam punk one is just about finished ( still 6 mono wheel bull centaurs stalled in production by ?~beard boredom?T). The Hordes of Tamirkhan counts as is done (2500 ish AoS points). The organic LoA one is coming nicely but only two battle line units so far (2 skullcrackers, 2 iron daemons, one dreadquake , magma and deathshrieker). Problem is I like making monsters too much. The Rotbringer one coming along but again not painted and only 2 1/2 battle-line units. I am trying but someone keeps coming up with contests!

Hah, that's got to be my favorite part of the hobby, the eye one inevitably develops for anything remotely useable for conversions. Great idea teaming up with your daughter! I'm sure she has a regular treasure of stuff to set to a better use :yar
@ Jasko. Yep, my army would be much smaller without all the broken toys necklaces and general junk my kids discard. They are well trained now and just put stuff in Daddy?Ts warhammer box. Admittedly some bits of it less useful than others. Sadly they also have an over exaggerated view of my talents. My 9 yo daughter asked me if after converting/scratch building her screaming bell could I make her a Slaanesh army!! I had to quickly distract her with the possibility of a warpfire cannon.

Are you telling me you got your kids into Warhammer? You?Tre living the dream! (I mean I guess, I don?Tt even have kids to begin with) but already having them collect stuff you might be able to use is priceless. Any chance we might get to see your daughter?Ts skaven?
@Jasko Er see her Big Bad Mice. OK. But I warn you I do insist she paints most of them. She is not a born hobbyist and follows a Jackson Pollock painting approach. She is due a battle against her brothers?T chaos forces tomorrow (it will be messy) so I?Tll get some piccys.
