Thanks guys for the nice comments - and once again thanks to those of you, who voted for me
I new I took a chance doing this model - but I really love this miniature - he is the perfect sorcerer (IMO).
Main problem using him for GH was that he is so small and dont really have that many details on him - so my ‘only’ option was to increase his hight a bit - by giving him horns and the rise him up high on a throne. But I think it turned out okay - and it seems you guys think them same.
Another sorcerer would be cool for a ‘next’ figure - but really don’t know about doing him that much ‘bigger’. I really like that these go so well with the Marauder dwarfs - so I would like if you stuck with that (yes, if one of those who has a scale issue ;)) - so my advice would be: keep them at 17-20mm, please.
And being big is my ‘problem’ with the hero. Cant get myself to just give him a ‘regular’ 20mm base. I want something outstanding for this guy - and at least one 25mm.
Thinking about giving him something like this:
But these are 40mm. I think that will look to big, so I’ll probably have to try do my own
Until then, no paint on the hero, sorry (but you’ll soon see painted ones - Sal has told me, that she will have them up tonight).
- but I’m playing around with a few other dwarfs of yours (Kees and a Volath the Vengeful (Executioner) figure). Will finish and post them when I’m getting better (I’m captured in bed with a back injury). I need a unit of Blunders for my big project - cause yes, I’ve also started out painting the Juggernaut
Sounds great clam, i always look forward to yuor updates as they are always good Looking forward to see the new models and the Juggernaut Hope that your back is better soon mate
I love that model and the scenic base you put him on just seams to add gravitas to him, The bane of a bad back I know I suffer that pain constantly for the last 10 years doesnt make it any easier I know I do hope yours sorts itself out with drugs and work, Mine however is permanant.

Well you could try dragon(s) forge, they do some really nice scenic bases.

I didn't know Sally had them painted, well we will see tonight, very curious!
Oh, don’t think she has eighter, my mistake sorry - but with all this interest for this guy 100s will be sold tonight and some buyers might be both faster and better painters than me - so you’ll see painted ones very soon
I’ll have to take a look at dragon forge, then - thx!
@Thorne
Have had problems with my back for 15 years now (so its kind of permanent as well) - it’s just got worse the last month or so. They now think I have some kind of “slipped disc” (don’t know if this is the right word) - but they still don’t know if they are going to anything about it, yet
And about the bases. Thy are soooo nice - but I think 40mm is slightly to big. HAve to find/do an alternative base more like 25mm or so.
Unfortunately not The two herniated discs and a diagnose of degenerative joint disease in my lower back have prevented me from sitting down for more than 30 minutes. Haven’t painted much more then two fubarnii miniatures in something like 3 months.
But will do my best getting five models painted for GH XII

Hey dude!
I told you some time ago that you should get the right (!) medication to become pain-free! ;)
Nowadays nearly no one must have extreme chronic pain (except some cancer patients) - and if the proper drugs don't help then as a last resort an operation might (!) be the opportunity!
So I hope you will be pain-free in the next time! :hat off
Thanks guys, sounds worse than it is, really. I’m doing way better - can’t sit for a longer period of time - but can stand, walk and also run (played soccer with my kid and his friends for half a hour, today). Been given the standard 3 months to heal myself - when there is neurological disorders - and I started training last week without any major set backs. So I’m one the right side of this - and just need to give it a bit of time, I guess.

Good to hear that you are on the road to recovery! :D
I’m really enjoying painting these days - so found the time to paint the probably best Sjoerd Trouwee model made. So here is my army general Barzach SkullSmasher
And after seeing the pictures …?? Yes I know it … I really need to give the shield face a third highlight :~
That red beard sure pops out allright, not my taste but technically good. I’d put just a few more sharp highlights on the green parts of the armour, most notably on the top of the kneepads (where the light would fall on) and although the metallics look good like this I think refining them just a bit more would make them pop out even more.
The base looks ace. Have you thought about giving the grey/blue-ish areas a very thinned wash of green already? If not, my advice is to do so as that would tie in the base very nicely with the green armour!
Hope you don’t mind me giving my two cents mate! :cheers
