This has been setting on my desk way to long - and god, I hate it right now :sick - but could not start another GH entry without finish this one first - now could I?
So I did these pictures of what will be his final stage for quite some time (he could need a few more highlights here and there) - and I think you’ll all have to wait a bit till you’ll see proper pictures of him in my showcase section - but he will get there
I want an elite Warrior Unit ?" a Sorcerer bodyguard with great looking weapons, so I have made a prototype of my elite guards devoted to Hashut and armed with a Mechanical Halberd device:
All credit for the Halberd (Great Weapon) must go to my absent friend “Snotling” ?" it’s totally stolen from his army ?" with his permission of course.
Hi Calm, I tried looking at the halberd but I still cannot figure out how was it done? I know snotling is the original creator, I’ll be glad if you or snotling can help to explain how it was done.
Oh my that looks like a wonderful character…! If only the pictures were not so blurry… or are my eyes already failing me? It’s supposed to start with the feed dammit!
And yes, Ish - the pictures are a bit blurry. Did the late last night. Will try do better ones, when I fell for looking at it again. And no - it’s not a squished goblin - but a useless Gnoblar puppet
@Gavan Sing
From the master of madness himself:
okay, the parts are (form the top) a goblin spear, a dwarf axe, the most important thing i think is the motor of a Chaos Space Marine chainsaw sword motor and then a part of a Dwarf crossbow… that’s all
Snotling
@Krulgar The Black
It’s sculpted by Andy Forster, so you never know where inspirations are taken from - lol
Yeah, he is perfect. I don’t mind him being big. But he needs to be a hero/lord in my army. On a 20mm base he’ll rank like shit - and so will Crabclaw
And then my GH entry is finished (I think). Can’t show you of course, but I’ll give you a hint. I did the ‘modern’ classic fig - that is barely converted and got a very traditional paintjob
Also, Crabclaw is now primed and I hope I’ll have time to start painting him tonight.
Some great models there Clam, looking forward to seeing them painted, and there is nothing better than coming home and finding new models waiting for you in the post box
- and I’ll try take a few more photos of him and the gnome tomorrow/saturday. Crabclaw is totally in black now, so no point taking more shots of him before finished. Would have hoped, to have started painting him tonight, but I got distracted by a certain Beastmen-book
Thanks, AGPO. Have already bought it for my WoC army. It’s a such a cool model - I admit it, I’m a AoW addict But I think he is way to big for that warband. Still looking for a cool executioner model that will fit a 20mm - so keep’m comming.
And a small update
Some might have seen that I’m unable to paint these days. I have injuryed my back and can’t sit down for more than a few minutes - so that means I can’t sit at my painting desk. So, I’m laying on my bed/couch most of the day waiting for a hospital scan
- but the pain has eased a bit the last 3-4 days. So, I’ve managed to find a way to almost sit up in the couch without pains. And what can you do in that awkward position? - well I’ve started playing with some green/brown stuff and those rubber tools, I bought from Heresy Miniatures back in October last year.
So here we go, my first -ever - sculpt miniature: a chaos dwarf warrior with a blunderbuss (sorry for the blury pictures - but my camara can’t focus on these greens and browns):
Well, he is to thin, (think i can fix that) head is slightly to big, and I’m not that 100% pleased how the beard turned out - but don’t think I can take it off again.
But he is suited for the purpose he was made for. He’ll go into my unit of Kees Headblast’s (that’s why the blunderbuss might look so familiar :D) - to give it a bit diversion.
And yesterday, another parcel from Heresy parcel - 5 wonderful trenchcoats - the last rubber tool i need (the pointed one) and a pack of ProCreate (sounds good, right? :D)
This is going to be my standard bearer in my MM90 unit - if it turns out as I’ve planed
And then I need a piece of advise. Those rubber tools are awesome - but my sculpting toold are shit (sorry :rolleyes:). Think I have something like 10 laying around but I tend to just use wooden tools. Anyone know of a high quality sculpting tool - thats works and is nice to hold in your hand.
