Snotling:

People Pleaser?!
It’s chimney! Well… now I seen what happens when I try to make peace between the Hat and the Mask front… people pleasers… ^^

Willmark:

Hey there!
I just finished my second CD sorcerer. I made two, one for the GH and... another one. I build them together, but then my time ran out and I had to decide which one I will paint to send him to the GH. This little fella lose :). Now that I finished him, I pretty happy with my decision because compared to the other one, he looks kind of boring... not many colours and stuff. But for the mini it is pretty cool, he is an engineer and the colour sheme represents that pretty well, looks kind of materialistic and industrial... imho.
Well okay, as you see, he is made of the BfSP engineer. I wanted to convert him since I made my shadow sorcerer, but the ideas were loked in my head and I didn't really know how to convert him exactly. But this is what I love about the Golden Hat, it made me think about this mini more than before and I finally did it. In the end, I'm happy with the result, he is far away from being my personal favourite, but I like him. And he is definately the most steampunky CD I made till now! YAY! :hat off
The white stuff is plasticard, the green stuff is Green Stuff, his hand from the Hellcannon Crew and the bags and tools on his back were from the Miners.
He is a Metal Lore sorcerer, an Arcane Engineer or a Deamonsmith.
'nuff said, there he is:

Comments welcome... that's why I post him here :hat off

Snotling
GOOD UNHOLY HASHUT! Damn that is cool.

Awesome stuff and keep it up man!

Borador:

damn

if that is your second one, the first one should be damned good.

I’ll be voting now :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: maybe yours is on my list aswell ^^ keep it up mate

Ishkur Cinderhat:

Hehe, Snot I can’t decide what’s cooler - the mask or the bull totem. Anyways, bionic eyes FTW! :hat off

Snotling:

After my Metal sorcerer, here is the second one I made. You probably know him from the Golden Hat, this is my Death Lore Socerer, my Priest of Hashut, my Master of Puppets. And he is the first mini I made totally on my own, without bitz (except the spike from the 40k vehicle sprue ^^). I am happy with the result, motivates me to sculpt more dwarfs :hat off

Now I want some comments what think about him, about the clothes, the colours, the hands and face, everything ^^

And thanks a lot to all members who voted for my entry! :hat off

Here he is again:

Thommy H:

I really like him, and voted for him in the Golden Hat, but I can’t quite figure out how his head fits into that hood! He must look very strange underneath there…

clam:

Still, can’t belive this one didn’t win. Sculpt with so many lovely details. The backpack/doll staff, the doll in the hand, the rope, the … etc. - it’s f****** brilliant - and then added you reat gpainting talent - can it get any better? Apparently ā€˜yes’ (Hats goes off to M3lvin) I would have sworn this one was the winning entry - but no! Beaten by a single vote :~ Seems almost unfair.

But you did an awesome job - and had my vote :cheers

Hazkar:

snotling, that one is definately better than your other sorcerer…and btw the other one was great

awesome job for a first completely sculpted mini…all this lovely details, like clam mentioned…but for me the coolest detail are the tiny dices on the base…how small are they? 3mm?

and your paintjob is once again great…i always loved that glowing eyes of your dolls

oh, and by the way:i voted for your mini … and it was my favorite

Snotling:

hm yeah, if I would have voted for myself, me and M3lvin would have both a golden medal  well, next GH will be mine! :mad
his head lookspretty weired, yep. But anyways, he is a deformed mutant dwarf monster, ugly as hell so I think it’s okay ^^.
I will start some new sculpts, soon, let’s see what this little experience can do for my future work. I like my sorcerer :hat off

And Hazkar: the dice are 2 mm ^^. but it’s not a big deal, I cut them out of 2mm plasticard. I have no idea why there are dices, but they give him together with the puppet and toy symbols a surrealistic touch to the sorcerer. By the way, the numbers on the dices are in a wrong order… this was intended ^^

Hazkar:

maybe not a big deal, but a nice little detail…and the details add the character to an modell

the numbers are in the wrong order?so your sorcerer is a gambler and cheating at casinos?what an evil subject…

Mario:

Truly oustanding job, i like the little key the doll has on its back, and it sort of looks like the doll is pulling the chains and leading the sorcerer

Snotling:

Oh they are not the dices of the sorcerer, they… just lie there… you know, the plains of Zharr are full of toys and stuff like that…

Mario
hm… does it really look like the key is in the back of the puppet? but this should be his chest ^^. Well, you can turn it as you want, as long we have a marionette-theme, I’m fine :hat off

Loki:

Amazing work, he is so cool, he got my vote in golden hat such amazing gs work and a awesome paint job

Skink:

I’m impressed on how you sculpted his dresses. I always found difficult to sculpt capes, cloaks, hoodies, etc… Well done. The details (like the dices and the runes on the sleeve) are ace, the only thing I can’t figure out is what he’s holding in his right hand… Is it a head???

Pyro Stick:

This was definately my favourite entry. If you had cast this i would definately buy one. Its seriously cool, although now that thommy has pointed it out i cant help but imagine him with no head above his jaw lol.

Mario:

Snotling
the doll on the _back_ of the sorcerer :idea ;P hehe, nah i really thought the doll looks the other way, wasnt to sure, since it got no face...
Love the model tho, its nice and different yet still fits so well into the CD's worlds

Snotling:

Skink
Oh, me too. I never expected that this is soooo easy before I got my....
you know, my what? ... :)
YEAH, my CLAY SHAPER!!! Awesome!!! :hat off
Well, this was the reason why I was so happy with these tools, it makes sculpting clothes pretty easy and it's definately more fun than with a metal tool.

Uhm, in his hand is a staff... I should have upload more photos, I think ^^. And yeah why not, he has nothing above his jaw, he looks like them: http://www.heresyminiatures.com/images/hv043_christophermatthews_1.jpg  ... hehe.

But you know, all these little things, the half hat, some small mistakes on the robe, too small feet, these thinks made me not to cast him. well, there are more reasons, I ran out of time and I wasn't even at home when I made the rest of him. He was also never a multi-part model and I didn't want to cut pieces of. I suck at casting models, I'm still practising but I think my silicone for the molds is just bad or something... and the most important reason...
I liked the fact more and more that I am the only one who has this mini ;P maybe I'll make something similar when I am more practised in sculpting and casting, he just took a lot of time, but wasn't really hard to do.
But you all see, the concept is there, just ask a more skilled sculptor if he makes something like that... or just make you own copy of him :hat off

EDIT: I uploaded more photos... here:

Zanko:

Nothing more to mention … just brilliant! :hat off

As well the sculpting as the painting! :cheers

Xander:

Any shot of the green?

Nice work!

Snotling:

thanks guys!

Aren’t these two pics of the green enough? I also have some WIP pics, but they are not very interessting, imo. If you want, I can upload them.
