Nobody shall speak of the unmentionable army! If they do the Swiss Inquisition will find you!

Oh for us CDO/Herdstoners Fishmen are mentioned every other week.
Your inquisition would be busy!

Nicodemus:

If it's a new/old army it could be Fimir - they've been getting press time lately too.

Border Reiver
Well, then there'd be some use for all the Fimir from my 15+ copies of HeroQuest and all the extra Fimir that came with Kellar's Keep.  I think I've got two large ziploc freezer bags full of HQ Fimir down in the basement.

Plus Bloodmoon Miniatures' Bog Raiders would do as characters in a pinch, if anyone want's to hedge their bets that the Fimir are coming back ;)

Personally, I've never been a big fan of the Fimir, even back when we played HQ regularly.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist :D

Much as I'm probably not the best person to be saying this... I think for the next couple of months we should try not to presume they are coming out next year.  Games Day Germany (16th august) is unlikely to tell us anything specifically about CD (maybe indirectly), but Games Day UK (27th sept) will be the key imo.

So in two months hopefully, but for the moment until we hear something more the CD are still in that dubious position of 'eventually'.

It know it is hard to restrain excitement, but if you're the sort of person who gets really annoyed if they get disappointd it might be for your own good at the moment.  Just because we're discussing it doesn't mean it WILL happen any time soon (even if the announcement came tommorow the release would probably be over a year away).

Just something worth considering.

Grimstonefire
I am not so sure Grim... As i mentioned on Warseer (after you stopped posting in the thread) due to GW recently i find it unlikely that we will be hearing anything soon, even at GD Germany or UK.

Im saying this is that GD Germany will be all about the so called mystery box while UK will be the set up for the holidays (Skaven for Fantasy and whatever is planned for the November/December releases which are likely LOTR or 40K) Although i do agree that GD UK is the more likely sources of rumours I don't think the odds of their appearance are very high... Although I hope I'm wrong....

Grimstonefire:

Although a green would be nice, a placeholder picture with an evil dwarf face and ‘Coming soon…’) would keep me happy for a while! ;)  I agree skaven will be the main focus. It’s just the initial announcement that’s the important thing this year I think. Next year they will have the whole cycle of games days to show off something new each time.

Jangrim:

Tis I, Jangrim! (yes, I do need to announce my posts with that mwahahaha!)

I recently spoke to Gamesworkshop’s retail manager when I was at a tournament in Nottingham and asked him if he had heard anything about the chaos dwarfs. He said that he hadn’t. Now, that’s not unusual from Gamesworkshop to openly deny things, but the tone of voice he used suggested that he actually was unaware.

To be honest, I want a new rules release, but I don’t want new models, nor do I want an influx of kids playing the army. I like the fact that our models are our own and that we have converted them from scratch. It says so much about the fandom and the vitality that the race has. I dread the day when I can pick up an entire plastic Chaos Dwarf army from the shelf, and dread even more the hundreds of children playing the new shiny army. It happened for dwarfs and for years afterwards there have been so many no0bs. I hate to grumble… but as a Longbeard it’s in my rules.

HASHUT HASHUT HASHUT!

(Btw soon I shall upload an avatar of awesome :D)

Taedae:

i could care less if we got new models. i would like them to make a book for us with all the bells and whistles all the other races have.

Grimstonefire:

I would like to have the option of buying a whole plastic army.  Resin…  Depends if I take a long term view to spending or not (and I don’t buy anything else.  Like food).

No offense intended if any of you guys are under say 14 years old (who knows ;)), but that is one thing I would not look forwards to in terms of membership.

Unfortunately that does not fit the new GW pattern for releasing information. They have more of less stopped giving hints of what is coming beyond immediate releases for each game system. Why would they tease a release (even if just a piece of concept art) if it is still 6, 8, 12 maybe more months away. They wouldn't...

Yes they will have something new for each games day but I would bet that it would be more likely to see Beastmen, Tomb Kings, splash releases for DOC and WOC all of which we know are rumoured to be coming along with 40K and LOTR. Although I am hoping I am wrong. I don't feel that confident....

wallacer:

I for one would like new CD models. Especially some inspiring FW Tauruses or Lammasus.

Fishmen would make great slaves for us pirates :hat off

Kera foehunter
I think its the other way around, afterall the Fishmen come from Davey Jones' locker and pirates generally don't come back from it.

Da Crusha:

as much as I dont want to see a whole bunch of kids playing there brand new chaos dwarf army I would like the option to get some brand new models and definitely a new book with all the “bells and whistles”

Baggronor:

New army book? Yes please. Hordes of teenagers playing CDs? Noooooooooooooooo

Taedae:

i really dont think any teens will play CDs. i think they will be looking for more “broken” armies like VC.

Perturabo:

Thing is, that’s pretty much how GW works. If there’re no new models, there’ll be no new book. And of course everyone and their little brother will jump on them as the new army. We’ll just have to act all superior and ride it out untill the next shiny thing comes along.

turquois dwarf:

If there are loads of new book colecters (ie only collecting chaos dwarfs because they are new) they will probably vanish as soon as the next book comes out so we would have to deal with them for a couple of months. I dont think new players overall are bad as they could bring in shiny new ideas!
