The basic idea will be to sculpt fresh left arms with the shoulder pad attached. GW. HW. Triple Barrelled Repeater handgun(?). Some sort of missile weapon anyway.
I need to do work on the feet, shoulder pads, the unfinished arm obviously and some rivets here and there.
The spiky shoulder pad was what I was planning on doing on both shoulders initially, but I decided I’d keep the right one the same for some continuity. Not sure if I like it too much, but it wouldn’t feel right not having some spikes on these guys…? :~
Something I have been considering is giving every model in the unit (bar the champ, who has a cloak), a simple trophy rack that would be attached on the flat line running down his back. Nothing complicated, just a couple of skulls stacked up on a spike.
Thoughts?

I also need some feedback on the style of GW to do. Axes feel right.
I’m wondering about a zanbato style sword/axe , similar to the uruk hai berserkers with the double spike on the end to make it more axe like and a longer handle to make it easier to fit the hands on.
Ranking may be an issue, as the models are beefy chaps.
Perhaps something more traditional like this, with an oversized blade.
Even though I can see a Chaos Dwarf wielding a zanbato you can’t deny that a well sculpted Chaos model (like yours) always look amazing with a massive chipped axe in its hands!
Seeing the axe on the Nurgle Lord I have to say my tastes lean more towards that than a sword, shoulders are looking good as is the rest of it :hat off
Big axes FTW! It’s just a matter of taste but I love Chaos Dwarfs with axes. An option can be clubs…
Great slaughterer. I really do not why but I really prefer your rank and files upon your characters. Your trooper really have the right balance of details and simplicity.
If you go with swords, I suggest sabres/falchions as the curve will help to prevent the odd look that I find comes with a sword-armed dwarf and will help to imply a stranger fighting style.
If not, big maces could be cool - not many mace-armed units, just a few models within them.
Maces and blunt weapons suit slavers as they can disable people and enslave them, This new sculpt looks more like a dwarf of war and very much need a weapon to replicate what the unit is about.
I think dwarf iron breaker + Chaos warrior = axe, Axes are suited for hacking as dwarfs are small a sword would not be much use other than defence.
But anyway if the rest of them look that great ill buy 40.
Now that Golden Daemon is out of the way I want to try and crack on with my CD again. Both sculpting and painting.
Whilst I haven’t actually done anything on the Iron Daemon since the last photo, I have been working on other stuff.
Firstly some WIP shots of my Death Shrieker. I decided it wasn’t really logical to have the rocket bouncing along the ground, as it would be when fired from a flat elevation. So I’ve raised it up a bit. I know a lot of early rockets did bounce along the ground btw.
Which sounds easy enough, but part of the chassis is attached on either side of the launch ramp… So in order to raise it I had to cut this off, rebuild the basic frame and tidy up the ramp again. Which turned out to be a fairly frustrating job as I tried gluing together many times, but the joins were just too weak. So I had to pin it all together!
For people thinking of buying one it all goes together fairly easily if you don’t mess around like I did.
The really ironic part of it all was that after I set the ramp drying I left it overnight. The following morning when I checked it, the elevation had dropped a couple of mm. :mad Would’ve been so frustrating if after all that it was flat again like it was originally.
Anyhow. Some WIP shots. I’ve run out of superglue so it may be a while before I get to do more.

Next a very WIP shot of something I’ve been building for a month or so. Not sure if I remember showing you the body of the Kollossus I had been sculpting? Anyhow, that’s now inside this beast. Also, a while ago I had started very basic work on a taurus. That’s now the basis for the head of this. :o It weighs a tonne.
I’m going to be covering it in super sculpey firm. Large angular scales that could be painted as metal.
The Death Shriek artillery’s cog is well made for such fiddly stuff. Did you get a better elevation for the rocket, or did it drop back fully into its original position?
I raised it up a bit, maybe 6mm. The arrows at the top stop it going any higher. Which I know I could have not glued on, but I liked them and the back end is not designed to be lowered at all.
As it is the crew guy without the mask I’ll have to try and get his hand on the top lever. I have a plan for both of the crew on the machine though…
I’m thinking of doing the rocket as if it’s firing off, with sculpted smoke and flames as close to the new ogre firebreather as I can. The crew would both have a simple shield raised against the back blast of heat. The crew would be easy enough to do, as both now have an arm raised in a suitable pose.
I’ll take some shots tomorrow, but I’m hoping to finish sculpting the majority of the bull daemon beast thing by the end of the weekend. The head will make or break it, so I’m going to do it last and come up with a few designs.#
I’ve pm’d Ed to get an update on when they’ll be finished.

The head on your bull daemon looks very bear or canine like. I think its the snout into the forehead... on most cows its a relatively flat transition with pronounce brow ridges.... but you've made the forehead come up from the level of the snout with the brow, making it look like a beast of a different sort. Also the sinus ridge that runs from the tip of the nose to brow loses a bit too much definition and makes your bull appear to have muscles that cows don't. I think its a great start, but the liveliness that makes it look more ferocious may need to a little more subtle. This is because normal cows can't snarl.
