I’ve just discovered this thread and holy moly, those are better sculpts than WF!
The Iron Daemon is also ace, I like the source lighting.

Grimstonefire:
You know the funny thing is that people on frothers were directly comparing my models to the Infernal Guard, when in reality they are entirely different in what they represent.
Aside from the fact that mine are obviously just evil dwarfs and not chaos dwarfs (;)), the infernal guard are elite troops, like ironbreakers, whereas mine are just plain basic warriors.
Eventually I do plan to do some elite troops once I come up with a design I’m happy with.
So it is a great compliment to say that these are better than WF (unless you just meant the lord model ;P), as I haven’t actually done anything really comparable yet.
I have a workable design for some bull themed centaurs, once I finally hear what base size the WF ones are. I actually entered the concept model in the last GH.
Earlier I was putting together a design for a bull themed giant robot thing as well, so I may shrink that down if the big model turns out well.
Borador:
But still Grim, your “plain” warriors are way better than the WF infernals (just look at the scale when it comes to say… the arms? Haha ;P). Plus your style is a lot cooler and has more character to each individual miniature IMHO. They all look unique and, at the same time, alike (in a good way).
Really curious to see what you come up with, I find your stuff very inspiring!

Get them on sale quick, if only to stop GW from giving you grief if it turns out that they stole all your designs for their CD models!

I know GW raise prices and kill other studios, But recently they have gone to far with the prices and KO'ing our friend at Raging Heroes is a step to far, This guy was providing us a service that we have needed for years and instead of combating him with good business and competition GW just throw the book at them.
Truly bad stuff!

Did they copy the model or did they suit him?

Few small things here.
Firstly the parcel has arrived (yay!). Ed said he’d start moulding them next friday.
Secondly, no pics yet but I’ve dug out my old giant I converted back in 2008 to make into a siege giant. He’s going to be climbing a wall.
Lastly something I’ve been planning to do for a while… I’m making a kollosus/ bull robot giant thing and I’d like some feedback on it. I’m not sure yet whether to go with 2 legs or 4. Ignore the current legs, I’m sculpting it ontop of an old model.
It’s made from super sculpey, so I can change around a lot before he gets baked. I’ll then do all the fine details with plasticard and greenstuff.
The look I’m trying to go for is more of an animated suit of armour than a robot. But he will have some robot parts on the arms, legs, neck and shoulders.
Borador:
Holy hell, the armor looks amazing!
And very nice to hear your miniatures are getting cast that soon!
warh:
Cant wait to see the finnished product, looks very promising!
I think four legs would be cooler.
Mr Saturday:
That looks very promising. I’d go with 2 legs personally.

An update on the siege giant. I’m also going to start sculpting 3 blunderbuss armed evil dwarfs this week.
The giant I converted back in 2008 I think. For those who don’t know the model is almost entirely hollow (apart from arms, head and feet basically), which made converting this guy to be jumping a very hard job. My original idea was to have the wire running through his foot as the standard pole of a giantslayer.
Anyhow, it meant very carefully cutting out sections of the legs all the way up and pinning them together again. I also took a lot of his belly out, the giant was going to be more of a hunter.
What I plan to do is make a section of wall on the front of the base where the wire is so that he can be climbing it.
I gave him a mask, as I was thinking the WF siege giant is not very well thought through… What would be the first thing the defenders on the wall would attack I wonder…
Also, I’m going to only lightly armour the legs and back of the model. The idea being that if he survives simply to haul his body onto the wall then he’s done his job already and doesn’t need the armour.
Admiral:
Fantastic work. That’s all I can say.
warh:
awesome! indeed awesome!
vulcanologist:
Great stuff as usual grim!
Borador:
Very cool (:

tjub:
Ohh… Looks really cool! Now I have to consider a CD giant in the future as well.
Dullmohawk:
That is the most epic giant yet. I really enjoy the thought of him jumping into a massed regiment of, well, anything really:P
nitroglysarine:
Cool, model, might get meself another giant (other one is for the empire army)
And yeah, i’ve gone off the other WF model now, to expensive for what it is.

Any update on the minis that were sent to be cast, Im still very exited to start a new CD army !
