No update yet on those, still waiting.
I have been working on a ‘blunderbuss’ guy and an elite guy with plug fit arms and a separate head.
Bit early to show those yet. My siege giant is nearly assembled. Still need to do a little work and figure out how I will build the wall.
Borador:
... and figure out how I will build the wall.Bricks or stone blocks? ;P
Grimstonefire
Grimstonefire:
It could actually be either.
I have some of those sheets of stone you use big clippers on to make into blocks. I also have the air drying DAS clay I’ve been using for the bricks on the base.
I’ll probably use the clay as it will be more effective.
Borador:
Hmm both seem appealing to me, each has it’s own charm
fonejaker:
Raffa (i think) from massive voodoo did a tutorial that might be of help with building the wall

Loki:
Amazing work , really like the work on the daemon engine and the glowing coals looking forward to seeing that finished
Grimstonefire:
A small update here on several things.
Firstly I’ve been painting my Lammasu, going for a cracked red effect on the skin and more pink tones on the wings. The plates on the spine I’m thinking I may do as white bone for some contrast?
I have been working on an elite troop with plug fit arms and head, but the head needs resculpting and I’ll finish the rest before taking pics. Then I’ll see if it would be better to do separate models for each weapon option. It would mean a lot more work though.
Thirdly I’ve painted up 8 or so dwarfs and plan to do a lot more in the coming weeks.
Finished building the blunderbuss and working on the arms (after posting this)
Siege giant is close to done, apart from the base.
Lastly, over the weekend I did a lot of work on the arm for my Kollossus. I’m thinking of completing one then casting it to save time, effort and sculpey.
What I’m not sure about though is how to make it look more interesting. Any ideas for inspiration? Sorry for the blurry pic.
nitroglysarine:
I’s say some kind of pneumatics? like the general orc design?
Or maybe some lines to break up the detail with chaos arrows?
gIL^:
I would love to see some pics!
Skink:
I second gIL. PICS!!! :cheers
Borador:
Yeah, I would love some more pics too (:
As for the arm: tried googling “steampunk mechanic arm” images?
Borador:
Bump! =D
How are the casts coming along? (:
And do you have any new photos to share with us? I just love your stuff, so inspirational!!
Cheers
Grimstonefire:
I’m going to try and finish assembling the giant tonight. So I’ll take some pics of him tommorow.
I’ve been doing a lot of painting recently (a lot for me anyway). More dwarf warriors and started on Belakor, one of my golden daemon entries.
I’ve also been sculpting a sci fi figure. Partly as a practice for something I don’t do normally, but mainly because a Mod on the Troll Forged forum (Borak) died and they want to try and get some models for a game he was designing made.
Ed said a while back that because of the number of casts I need (I asked for about 200 just for the first order), plus all the ones he will need for the store that they may take a while. He’s been working on spincast plastic so I think because of the quantity of models I need there is a real chance they might be done in plastic.
Borador:
Awesome, looking forward to the troll!
Curious to see what you are coming up with for your golden deamon this year, make sure you make some WIP shots if you plan to do a thread about it afterwards! (:
Oh that is very sad news! Very sweet of you that you are doing that, totally understandable that it has some sort of priority IMO!
Thr entire casting process sounds like it’s quite something! Very stoked to see them when they are cast, might have to buy a few to support you I guess
CheTralfara:
Grimstone, I hadn’t seen your work in a while and it is absolutely jaw-dropping and inspiring. I will be keeping a close eye on your progress.
I love how you are basically converting up your own CD land train. Do you have WIP shots of the iron daemon?
Can’t wait to see your new sculpts with paint on them. I much prefer your design and proportions over the new FW chaos dwarf infantry.
gIL^:
Plastic would be brilliant Grim, Not only are your CD’s better looking than forgeworld they won’t break the bank.
You could be onto something here buddy!
Grimstonefire:
Still WIP.
I need to do more work on the wall, on the base (brick rubble) and add another short chain on the back. Otherwise I’m pretty happy with it. I’ll paint it with mostly black armour.

Borador:
Damn awesome!

Grimstonefire:
The main thing I’m happy with on this model is the overall impression people on the battlements would get when this guy heaves himself up. The WF model isn’t really that scary looking on the head/shoulders, which is the first thing the defenders would see. So it should be terrifying and very well armoured, which hopefully my model is.
