[Archive] The Slaughterers (my new blog)

Borador:

You succeeded in making him look scary. If I was standing on battlements and that thing would climb up, I’d run the hell off those battlements :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

cornixt:

Wow, are there any balance issues? Very impressed with the pose.

Grimstonefire:

No balance issues (not any more so than any large model has) as his centre of gravity is over the centre of the base.

There might have been if I had pinned him straight up from the middle of the base, or from the back, but the pinning wire is running all the way along the base and is bent into a curve to stop him rocking side to side.

I was planning to make the wall out of plaster bricks (as in the link someone gave), but I thought it would be too front heavy.

Bolg:

man thats one heavy duty conversion!!

cheers (:

Bassman:

Yep, really scaring. I would not be there on the battlebements! And great, dynamic pose.

nitroglysarine:

Love it! great pose and energy!

Skink:

Being honest I’m not a big supporter of “Diorama-like” bases (as I like miniatures that interact actively with the enemy) but this one is well executed (as always)!!! You really made a siege giant that’s 100 times better than the FW one! Kudos:cheers

Hashut’s Blessing:

Looking damnably awesome and I think you’ve pulled off everything that you said you wanted really well.

One question, does he benefit from hard cover, lol

tjub:

Agree with Skink, not a fan of the “base”. But, an awesome model none the less!

Admiral:

Great log, and great giant. It’s all so outstanding.

Spikes:

Awesome modeling. Now paint it!

Grimstonefire:

A couple more things for the blog.

Although I don’t plan to do WIP shots (especially on larger things), here’s a pic of the giant so far. I’m thinking of adding the skeleton in cage from the giant set onto the front of the wall for some detail. Thoughts?

Also, as my Avatars of War berserkers arrived this morning I’ve made one into a CD berserker.  Painted it as well, though I need to build a small unit base.  Planning to do 15 of them and use the other 5 for skaven slaves.

Very cool!

Kyllingmannen:

I will echo other replies, and say it?Ts an awesome and impressive giant, and a lot cooler (or dreadful) than the FW version. :hat off But I?Tm no fan of the hanging cage / iron gibbet. It is cool, but the giant, with all its details, deserves the viewer?Ts full attention (to get properly terrified!). A discreet, generic, non-specific, neutral and universal wall gets my vote! (But it will surely look awesome either way :cheers)

ryanamandaanna:

love it!

Borador:

Looking very good!

I agree with Kyllingmannen about the wall. (:

Skink:

Thumbs up for the giant! I’m still not sold on the wall though… I think it would look cooler without it.

tjub:

About the AoW berzerkers, please give us a size referense!

Grimstonefire:

A shot from Dakka

Been working on a few more of these, using the dwarf body on the standard pole as a champion type body.

Admiral:

"Sarge, what’s up with the west wall?"

That’s one mean Siege giant.

Good work on the berzerker, too!
