Creating the gaming room of my dreams! (Hopefully)

Give what you’ve said about a large puddle, might it be possible to draw the water away from the walls?
Either a trough or low-level angled drainpipe might work. :man_shrugging:t3:

Yeah the guttering on the back needs work anyway. It’s held together with hopes and dreams. But the biggest issue is that it deposits water directly at the foot of the wall.

A temporary solution has been that I’ve put a water butt under the place it deposits water for now. But yes considering where it is angled and where it deposits water when in fix it up is going to be key

Floor pour part one done!

Next step - wait for it to cure, and move all the stuff over the over side, and pour again!

How long does it take to cure?

@MichaelX 24 hours and it’s hard enough to paint on. 48 hours and it’s proper cured.

But…about five days until my next pot arrives in the post haha

What an adventure @Oxymandias ! You have done so very well so far. I wish you luck dealing with that damn water. Once all is done that cold beer in there is going to taste so damn good and you will have this awesome thread to look back on the journey you have taken. Big ups to you mate, bloody well done and I can not wait to see the finish! Also I am feeling a little guilty… I stole the master bedroom in my house to be the Warhammer room lol

Cheers @Deebo

It’s definitely been a marathon not a sprint. Also been a cool thing to bond with my dad over which is always cool. Hopefully doing more this weekend

Floor is complete and lights are being installed! These are hanging loose right now but will eventually be embedded in the ceiling.

Looking more like a spacecraft than a shed now!

Starting to look like a hobby room you will can be proud of!

The idea @MichaelX is that this will be a pure gaming room. The project after this project is building my dream hobby room behind it. Granted - it will probably double up as gaming/hobby between the completion of this project and the next

Last update for today. Adding a new seal to the door to help it be weather proof. The new one is the thick black one. I reckon the white one was that size 30 years ago! Done the whole door now. Took surprisingly long but forgot to take a picture of the finished job so here’s the halfway pic:

Also - and this is probably more exciting…to me anyway…- I’ve got the insulation for the ceiling.

Somehow I managed to fit this into my Mini Cooper :joy:

For a few seconds I was like "how can he drive with that insulation against the steering wheel… then I remember you guys do that a little differently

Yes haha that’s the passengers side over here haha.

I’m good but I’m not that good. Haha

My sides!

Good progress @Oxymandias! Good call with the new door seal. I’ve incidentally been doing wall insulation for a little cottage recently (carpentry).

More insulation!

The room was actually getting warmer as I was doing this! Feels like another big step forward.

Tiny bit of weather still getting through the door :disappointed:
I think changing the seal on the frame wasn’t enough- I think I need to change the seal on the door itself. A cheap job- but a fiddly paint in the arse!

Still if a jobs worth doing, it’s worth doing well!

Oh Sh-t! On the right hand of the top picture it looks like you have aliens entering the building

shovs another alien carcass in the crawl space, chuckles

These? Oh no, they just make for great insulation. They aren’t going anywhere, don’t worry.

Definitely giving the room a HR Gieger sort of feel isn’t it haha.

In other news that insulation is the devil. It’s done something to my skin. Feels like I’ve been shaving with sandpaper. Must be all the little fibres.
