Oxymandias the mad - My Chaos Dwarf Projects

Yes well spotted - heavily influenced by this;

I avoided the spears as my armies travel from house to house quite a lot for games and I thought it would be a nightmare to transport!

Yes I can imagine they’d be a nightmare :joy:

Again, amazing job! I know I keep saying it but I don’t mind because it feels worth it

Thanks @MichaelX

It’s the one constant in a sea of ever starting and ever abandoned side projects. I always come back to the chorfs haha.

Ingenious model and great set in scene! What kind of ship model did you take as a basis?

Dirt cheap toy boat. Cost me about £5 (so that’s about 6 euro, 56 krona or a single snotling slave depending on where you’re based)

Currently unavailable now but was bought on amazon.

Biggest issue I had was I didn’t realise from the picture the bottom of the boat was flat and had wheels haha. Had to do a lot of work to get rid of all of that

Now I’m even more impressed

Well done. Even the old orc made it haha. I liked the black knight at the front

A mate of mine just made a lovely lammasu model. Naturally lammasu envy has kicked in big time. I own the mantic one but honestly - I’m not a massive fan of it. I’ve seen people do a good job on it but I can’t seem to get the motivation to paint it which means it’s probably wrong for me and this army.

So I thought I might kit bash one. Half my miniature stuff is in boxes where I’m moving house. So I have limited supplies.

I was about to go to bed when inspiration struck and I had to luckily knock this up.

Tell me - is this the stupidest or greatest idea of my life because I can’t tell.

Obviously lots of green stuff to go. He’s going to want a beard etc - but general shape and feel of the model. Does it work?

My mate went with feathered wings on his - a proper Assyrian vibe and I really liked it - hence why the idea to use the griffon popped into my head. And then the troll face is just a good grotesque face with a big nose for me to work from. I feel a big curly beard coming on…

I like it a lot, but as is it feels little skinny. GS will probably help a lot.

I’d say, go for it, make us jealous!

I think you will pull it off great. You have skills. Needs a lot of fur / hair around the head. I like the fact you do plenty of budget conversions and make them better that much dearer ones

I’ll be very interested to see where this conversion ends up! Lammasu ideas have eluded me so far… Unfortunately already used this model as a mount for a herald of Tzeentch.

I really like it, very characterful.

Quite astonishing conversion. Simple in its way, but strongly effective.

That is fantastic, massive improvement on the base model, which I always found underwhelming. Can’t wait to see it painted.

Incredible job on the ship. The quality of conversion and paintjob is excellent as always, and the sheer size of this project - kudos for getting this out on schedule for the competition!

The Lamassu conversion looks very good. Looking forward to seeing it painted.
