[TOW] Let's get competitive

… and You can not use shields either :frowning:

Oh dear, good job it was a friendly game.

In future, I’d swap one Black Hammer for a Ogre blade as there pretty similar.

Then drop one talisman of protection for mantle of stone.

Why not a shield?

Unless you mean more than once?

Mages have no shields in their Options to choose from so they can not use magical shields either.

Wow - subtle but yeah, armour (unless otherwise stated) and shields.

Pg. 107 of the rule book.

Okay, back to list writing, as it was super fun running two great Taurus on the table.

I still think it is a cool idea especially with Lvl 1-2 mages. 250 ish point flankers. You still can take Silvered Steel armour and 5+/5+ combo on the other one.

I do like how I said “oh dear, good job it was a friendly game”. Whilst using meta competitive lists :joy:

My group plays friendly games with best lists possible. It is a wargame after all.

Yeah same here tbf. My buddy and I both play multiple armies anyway (and we never know in advance what the other guy is bringing and don’t exchange army lists or say what character has which magic items or so) so there is enough variability. For example, in all the years of 8th I played exactly one Dwarf Gunline.

Our league rules are similar. You only know who will You play next round… and You get that information AFTER You make a list.

Guys. How BIG is T7? Except vs Beastmen

Pretty big, actually. The Meta is T6 and that’s what everything is aimed at. The vast majority of high strength attacks are S6 and S9/10 is virtually unheard of. So that step from T6 to T7 will affect like 99% of all attacks directed against it. Coupled with a -1 to hit for Ash Storm and a 5+/5++ and you have a very durable model.

1750 is tricky then. You either take tooled up big guys or un-optimal big guys and support characters.

I think that’s the idea behind it, yeah  Similar to the 1999pts games.

1999 has more points per SLOT to use but I agree.

This is true for 2000 but 3 T6/T7 units (Wyvern, Great Taurus and ID) in a 1750 can be a nasty surprise. Even IF Taurus is just great not bale.

Yeah sure! T6 is the Meta so if you have three units at T6 or above your list is strong in that regard.

Came up with another tweak. No mantle but still Bale Taurus. This saves me points for ring on a Wolf less Khan…

Good call! Also no -1 Initiative

Lammasu vs Hammerers

Hammereres use magic weapons, right? Or Magic Attack does not make weapon magical?
