Its easy enough to get a lammasu in a 1200 pt list too. I like another sorcerer as general though. The lammasu is vunerable and i try and protect it from combat and ranged threats as much as i can.

Best performing thing are the ironsworn, they munch up everying they get in contact with

Ld hobbgoblins with Khan? I recently try to keep them cheap. 60 point for 20. Still Khan adds a lot of power to a units of 40… Hand weapon and shield I assume…

How are you ranking the Iron sworn up? 4x3? 5x2(and a bit)

Lol 3 frontage 4 ranks if no cannons or bolt throwers-drilled and march 9 are getting more relied upon because i cant cast that damn daemonology movement spell. 7 frontage normally as the sorcerer goes in there. The tank stays within 6 but far enpugh to get impact hits counter charging

I used s bows in this list. I need to encourage the enemy to come towards me. Volley fire shooting after marching the 1st turn helps this. Same for the blunders. I feel i have to whittle down the softer threats bit by bit

I’ve started added a second Khan in my lists too, on foot. Really helps with the CR against standard stuff hobbos struggle with.

Mounted Khan

Foot Khan

This is almost the exact scenario we discussed.

What list did You use and was it renegade or official list? Wolves in open order??

Set up looks good. You use Indirect shooting?

Sorry, not my battle report, I just linked to it. Looks like wolves took the brunt and Khan swept through the artillery.

I had mine in open order because of how the tournament rules for scoring units worked. However, I had to reform them after deployment so that I could hide behind some terrain and wait out his knights. After that I sent them up the left flank but the Volley Gun obliterated all the wolf riders. Luckily for me, the Khan that was left passed his panic test and was able to charge next turn. The second Volley Gun was deployed elsewhere and couldn’t see or reach them.

It ended well for me but it’s not at all guaranteed to work. In fact, I find it hard to get them into position to go after the backline stuff. It depends a lot on the terrain and deployment. If they didn’t count as scoring in this tournament, I’m not sure I would have brought them.

Here is my list, FWIW. The lack of a Talisman of Protection is because of tournament restrictions.

I see Taur’ruk has some value without bull centaurs (Renegade). Especially run naked.

This was basically the first time I took him, so I’m not sure yet what the best build is. With a bit of extra oomph he can charge heavier targets, but maybe those points are better spent elsewhere. I would love to hear some Taur’ruk success or failure stories!

Not sure how did I missed that. Always good for a pro review/update especially when most reviews were out of date after 1.5.

You could let go of the shield here, you can’t go over 3+ save on a behemoth.

There is a crucial missing point on the list, you need to include black orcs, because of Da Boys rule.

As it stand your list is unfortunately not legal.

You can get some points by switching some options on your list. Mind you black orc with great weapons and shield cost the same price as your IG setup while being better (plate + movement)

Light re worked

Hey legends, I’ve got a 2400 point game day coming up in a couple of weeks and I’ve come up with the below list from the models I have + what I think is decently competitive - only 1000 points allowed on characters and using the renegades pack;

I ran this list against skaven and tomb kings and was able to win both games!

A bunch of T7 really emphasised how strong the chorfy boys can be! The lvl 3 sits in with the ironsworn and picks vessel, vigour and steed or vessel, steed and gathering darkness

Using steed to get the IS right infront of the enemy turn 1 has worked really well, the double deathshrieker with the lvl 1 for rerolls is a bit of fun + combined with gathering darkness and causing a panic for any unsaved wounds it has the ability to really mess up and infantry block’s plans of pushing forwards

Would love to hear your thoughts/comments

Hello,

we’ve been playing an Old World narrative for sometime now. It’s been great except for one point: empire war machines. The helblaster, great cannon and now the steam tank just roll over us as our narrative rules focused on mainly blocks of infantry.

I’ve been using sneaky git’s to mixed success. Normally I have to present two high value targets with one getting slammed ant the other hopefully getting off clean. As in make the player choose between a fast moving mounted character v the large black orc regiment. As cannons don’t roll to hit but use arty dice, it’s becoming a pain.

Suggestions?

I envy empire players who are able to use the helblaster, mine always explode turn 1 or 2 even when I have a bloody engineer babysitting it …

As for great canon, never really played against it couldn’t really tell. As an empire player I hate ambushers, but this edition gave cannons grapeshot which is mighty powerful.

What items/lore You give to a caster that is there to babysit DSRs? I was thinking about BSB but Lammasu would not work with flying unit of bunderbussess… BTW first time maxed out Special slot

DSR - how You use them? Indirect to keep them safe or just aiming biggest infantry blocks with them in LOS?

Hey mate!

Awesome list!

I’ve have success with giving the lvl 1 the sig from demonology to blow up any ambushing units that are trying to take a baggage cart or threatening the DSR’s and I use the DSR’s on big infantry locks to hopefully do a wound and cause them to roll panic, if you can get the lvl 2 to pop the -2 LD and can’t use generals inspiring presence you’re more likely to make them FBIGO giving you more time to chip away at them - or if there’s a single model all alone go for gold and use the 3ā€ template and hope for a direct hit the multi wounds can be a game changer, GL!
