Balista against flyers, DSR vs infantry. I do like the -2 Ld. This can make a big difference.

Cheap wolves and a Khan. Run them separately, get them up in their face. You take the graoshot with one, charge in the other. You should win combat and be amongst their back line.

Steam tank then becomes easier to deal with.

Blood od Hashut. Can you use 2+ viles in the same turn of combat?

Also what is now best items for chariot orc bosses? Dead ā€˜Ard Armour make chariot T6 and and 4+ save and Trousers gives him Regen 4+ and 3+ save…

I has 3 games for out league.

First gamę against best player and his WoC list. Except for a lot of successful Wars saved on 5+ on chaos side 2 things went wrong for me. First Great Taurus with multiple wounds (D3) pushed dragon Ogres back and rolled 4 on overrun (on 3 Dice) and instead of flanking chaos warriors he exposed his flank to a chariot lord. You can ser that on a 2nd picture.

Second thing was Bull centaurs loosing a successful charge against 5 chaos knights. I did 1 wound out of 8 impact hits and 7 atttacks and Khan got killed by a single knight. Not my day…

Second game was against VC do a other top list and player.

The gamę was a draw but my taurusai were Rolling badly against Grave Guard all game. In 6 rotunds od combat killed one bsb and 4 guardsmen on total… Key moment of the gamę was when mounted vampires rolled super high and got into my bulls though an lineal obstacle.

Destroyed one baggage train and secured another but list the middle due to poor combats.

I’ll give the sneaky git’s and wolfs with a Khan another go. Bull centaurs become too much of a target.

Hey mate,

With the first list you have to take a block orc boss to use the black orc mobs because of their ā€œDa Boyzā€ special rule

The second list is sweet, where are you putting the lvl 2 and what do you want it to do? If you’re putting it in with the iron guard you’re going to have to get him within 18ā€ of the enemy wizard to dispel and makes that unit a pretty big target - double iron daemon is always so much fun I don’t usually runHellbound at T7 and a 3+ save not a lot of things are going to wound it but the magic attacks are helpful if you’re playing into ethereal armies in your meta and you don’t get punished that badly for misfiring with it

I couldn’t remember whilst writing the list if I needed to put a black roc boss with them so will have a look again at that list.

The level 2 the idea was to kinda babysit the death shreikers as well… not the best of ideas I know but I felt the level 2 was needed for the list I could be wrong though

The idea behind hellbound was for terror and magical attacks, with an unknowing opponent as well this was my thought because looking at vampire counts and tomb kings it’s going to be needed the 6+ ward was an added bonus in my opinion as you know when you need it you may be able to pull it off :joy::joy:.

I really wanted to try and run a taur’ruk in the list but I just can’t see the bull centaurs being worth the points to have him

If the lvl 2 is going to sit with the DSR to shave some points you could make it a lvl 1 and take off the dispel scroll and give both wizards the demonology sig to blow up any ambushers or whoever get too close! I don’t know how many wizards are going to be in your dispel bubble at the back of the board but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen! Hahah

Ahh yep yep yep, the terror and ward are definitely a bonus for sure!

I run the Taur’ruk by himself with 2 mantle of stones, an enchanted shield and GW because he’s a lone character he moves as a skirmisher with 360los and no facing which can definitely catch an unsuspecting opponent out, all of his added special rules make him pretty formidable on the charge even into infantry giving you time for everything else to move up and support or have him as the support flanker

Do you not need to take the bull centaur renders to take the taur’ruk?

Maybe more of a viable option to take the other Daemonsmith as a level one like you say!

Os or still readable to take the black orcs is another concern of mine… the reason behind me saying this is that’s it’s roughly around 500 points now for a unit of 21 which is a quarter of the army’s points

Not if the army is done due to the Renegade army pack. Taur’ruk is moved to a rare choice and has the Render unit restriction lifted.

Just a heads up, you are not allowed to take a magical shield if the base model is not allowed to carry a non magical shield.

oh yea sorry as Jasko said I play using the renegades pack so stuff is in different slots with a lot less restriction

As for the black orcs I don’t know too much about them as I don’t have the models or a black orc war boss because you can’t have one without the other but the most competitive lists (that use renegades) Take a black orc war boss on wyvern and only 5 BOrcs (the minimum allowed) because they aren’t worth the investment and the motley crew rules can get a bit iffy and confusing at times but do exactly what you’ve done and take large bricks of the hobgoblins for great objective control so great thinking there!

Ah ok makes more sense now, think I’d rather stick with the normal legacy faction rules rather the renegade as I’m assuming that it isn’t an official list?

the hobgoblins I think work great now with the 4+ save in combat! And let’s face it at 137 points it’s worth while!

I’ll have to respectfully disagree here, GW shields Black orcs are really good value for 15 pts/minis. Don’t bother with the motley crew, create uniform units. That’s what I do and the few points you burn into this is worth not having a headache and killing the flow of the game.

To be fair what I’m thinking is putting the fireglaibe unit behind with the overseers Virgil so all three units should be good… place the deamonsmith in the unit of fireflies and should use his leadership if needed.

I really want the black orca but to make them work it’ll be around 700 points for them to be practical as a unit of 21 the more I’m looking into it.

Dual demon is deffo the way to go I believe which again is nearly a third of the points in 2k

Going over their stats and special rules I reckon you’ve got a really good point - pretty much the same output as IS on the charge but also re-rolling 1’s, very very tempting - do you give the unit a banner aswell and how do you kit up your BOrc war boss and do you run a wizard in your usual list?
