Thank you very much harvestmouse, v kind.
I didnt actually think of one piece until you said it but you are so right! Or maybe i did without knowing it (part of my subconsious i guess).
Drexxl if walhut has anything to do with it maybe some tusks too!
These halflings represent the lowest but v useful level of society in my realm. These halflings live and workin the forges within an active volcano. They divert lava and molten metal to make the armies weaponry /war machines under the guidance of a daemonsmith. The extreme heat has singed their hair off and a lack of sunlight, poor diet has caused them to look a little ghoulish. They can be used as a desposable regiment on the battlefield if needed too.
So my current plan subject to change is to get enough chaos halflings painted to form a small army. Only problem is only a couple of models exist for warhammer. So i have to convert my own or use models thar can be painted to look a bit evil.
I really thought the macrocosm hobgoblins would have been a bigger hit with the cdo forum people. Im stillthe only one that appears to have painted any. Maybe everyone sated their hobbo desire on hogrots and fabelzels?
The 2 chaos dwarf magic users are front rankers in the acolytes of hashut unit in the wap 8th/9th book
Love it! Its not too late to continue that idea. Currently the chaos halfling just replace hobbos in any given army list(in my head). So its not like you need a whole army to use them.
Thr tjublings make superb chaos gnomes too. Sometimes i think they should be martketed as such
Monopose black orcs, ive had these since a kid
T.o.w. has finally made me paint them. Not the easiest things to paint (at least for me). I need a few more and a command group i guess…
Good catch! Yep it is the plastic head from the 80s plastic orcs. Such a cool head. His body is a mantic abyssal orc.
We need more mohawk greenskins, they are so cool.
Cheers
Next …the train!
Been wanting to do this for ages but lacked the necessary follow through. Golden hats have a way of motivating us.
The tank was lengthened, the plastic carriage was split in two for a mortar and yet another arse cannon! (Ive got problems!).
I made a crappy mistake though, i stuck the mortar team on before painting. Reaver does this kind of thing, surely i could too…? Nope
Could not get the angles right to paint them, in frustration i ripped them off and painted them properly. Lesson to be learnt here.
I really would like to extend the train if i could get more of the carriage wheels. I had ideas of coal buckets, flame cannon and troop transporter myself. Nicodemus did it better than i would have anyway
This juggernaut was 3d printed. It was designed along with the chaos dwarf crew by tom wiggins. Pester him to release it if you want it! Its a really nice chonky design.
This is a smaller version ive used as an iron demon. Unfortunately i had another horrible print fail and was missing about a 1/4 of it. Spent ages patching up and learning new skills…very…slowly
Thank you very much everyone that voted for me. These types of competition are my favourite.
Would you believe i only got half my ideas done here? (Bonkers)
1st game against orcs… massed t4 and goblin fanarics are scary. Black orcs getting 2 attacks on the charge caught me out too. My lvl 4 wizard with steed of shadows saved the day though. The sneaky gitz were brilliant killing artillery and flank attacking stuff.
A 2nd game against a very soft empire list, was a fun game. I think it is pretty much all core. I took a heavy hobbochaos halfling list. It was fun, even used 3 merc ogres. Again the lvl 4 wrecked stuff with spells and 2 units of sneaky gits caused carnage . I lost a unit of cds to 5 knights. Lost my halfling/hobbo archers to the remnants of state troops
The bolt throwers performed extremely well killing plenty of state troopers.
The sneaky gits seem the best unit in the army list at the moment. 4bs 2 shots. 20 shots of death then a flank or rear charge after rerolling hits (or wounds i cant remember).
