Bas tries to paint a lot of stuff! [BATG 2022]

And time to count up!

Today I finished a bunch of trees! These were in my box of terrain and were looking quite sorry. Then @Bolg gave me a bag of poker chips to rebase the trees and some bases for the forest. Now they’re looking way better than before, and are actually playable with removable trees!

So in total in finished 24 trees, spread over 3 big bases, with 3 small trees left over to use as a Minihammer forest. +4 Forests in total!

I’m not a big fan of the smaller bright green trees, so those might end up in the bottom of my terrain box ;p

Sooo… A friend recently said that 40k can be fun, even with small points. And I had this box of old metal models I was planning on painting sometime during lockdown. So now I’m working on a 40k army ;p

Well, I had planned to do more this month, but we had a couple of holidays (Kings Day!) and after that I was hit by covid :frowning:

So I hope to get some things painted again in the following days, but for now I’m down…

And a summary of this month:

Wooop! I’m back! I survived covid and now live in the post-apocalypse?!

It took me some time to find the motivation to paint ago. I have a bunch more Tyranids ready to paint, but somehow that feels too much like work. So I needed some random figures to get my mojo back.

But last week I channel-surfed past Batman Begins and rediscovered my love for those movies. I was never a big fan of Christian Bale’s Batman, but now I really like him. Maybe it’s the years of Batfleck I had to endure…

So I dug out the Batman starterset I got earlier this year and found some minis to paint. It was really fun to try to make all the different shades of black different. It’s just really hard to capture on camera.

Here is what I painted this weekend:

Batman and his Batmobile:

Batman and an alternate Batman and his Batpod:

Catwoman and her Batpod:

Joker:

The Batmobile without its black paint (from Batman Begins or from when Bane captures it in Dark Knight Rises:

And as a random addition: while painting all this black I had the random urge to slap some paint on this guy; Blackagar Boltogon:

So that makes my count:

And apparently I wasn’t done for the weekend, because last night I also painted Deadpool and Deadpool!

One version for Unmatched, and the other for Marvel Crisis Protocol:

So now I have the full Deadpool set for Marvel Crisis Protocol painted:

These figures are so fun to paint. Bright superhero outfit colours and a nice large scale so you don’t have to fill in endless tiny details. There’s more to come for this game!

So my May really was DC vs. Marvel…

I painted some more Marvel Crisis Protocol.

First some more friendly X-men:

The Angry Canadian:

Magik:

Crystal from the Inhumans:

And then some bad guys:

Magnet man to start out a Brotherhood of Mutants with some debris terrain pieces:

And the one and only Mister Sinister:

And finally a group pic, the dark DC and bright Marvel models:

You are a very talented painter, maybe in a decade or so i can get similar results, i doubt it though. Paint a random chaos dwarf some at some point to make me smile! (A helm one !)Cheers, zodd

Real Chaos Dwarfs have hats ofcourse, but last year I actually painted a helmeted one!

This little cutie!

I have some more of his friends, but they’re someone low on the priority list at the moment.

I love the paint job on the helmet. Captain Squighead here is awesome! Great job on this.

Looks great!

Still in the black though! Still good haha

My summary for this month!

Not much more painted during the last weeks, because it was summery and warm, and I have a deadline with work-stuff ;p

I did forgot to post a couple minis I painted earlier though:

Sabretooth in a nice orangey jumpsuit:

And the big guy, Juggernaut!

That brings me to this group shot:
