As a side note. This is one idea for hobgoblins that has been brewing for a while and that didn’t get fully completed.
The backstory is that a Shaman, whilst having a lovely drug aided vision, pronounced that he had seen symbols, leading an army of the unwashed against the tyrany of their overlords. He then ordered his tribe to emblazon their shields with the most powerful of symbols

No secret that I am not a huge fan of hobgobs… but I finally found the “hobgoblin” models I picked up several years ago (didn’t say I didn’t own any; the only models that struck my style). Build in progress. Hope to have build completed on Saturday or Sunday evening. Which leaves me a few days to paint. Late to the party as usual, but we shall see if I am able to get in an entry in this one…

Started building in a few minutes of spare time and got some flash inspiration for a more interesting/fun idea. Build is 3/4 done. Sometimes just looking at the bits you’ve pulled together takes you in entirely different directions.

So I’m still painting, dreadfully slow as always.
Damn.
But it dawned on me that the only reason I’m giving a go at entering this time is because of the generosity of our dear @Admiral , who not only was kind enough to send me some hobgrots in the mail for free, but he also gave an extension on the deadline.
And while his kind hearted intentions are counter to the preaching of the evil ziggurat stunties, I think it’s only fair that I contribute back…so, if it’s OK with staff I want to donate a prize to this competition.
I’d like to donate a set of Admiralty Miniatures 28mm Big Hats in white metal, to be awarded to a random entrant :
They’re currently out of stock, so hopefully someone will be happy to get them

Build done, primed, and paint 1/3 done, and moving along fairly quickly. I’m pretty sure I would have made the 24th, but will happily take a few extra days. Perhaps it will give me time to add some extra detail I was contemplating. Thanks for the added time!

I just now submitted my entry…they’re not entirely finished, but I’m out of some paints (awaiting a postal order to restock my supplies at the moment), the weather is raining (so poor lighting) and other life priorities are not gonna let me get anymore done for now.
Fuggit.
But I’m still very thankful for the deadline extension which allowed me to get them painted up about 90%…
I admit I’m surprised what can be done to those hobgrot abominations by chopping them up and reworking them completely in green stuff.
Hopefully I’m not the last guy to the party, and that more entries are coming?
Really happy to seeing the noble Hobgoblin getting a proper GH
