Siege giant done!
Does a dwarf giant count as a chaos dwarf?
Good question. If so, can I field these in a block of 30?
That is a very good question, if a Dwarf becomes a giant is he still Dwarf hmmm
Well… since my 34 warrior block is nearing completion after being delayed for a few weeks due to the GH and the emissary exchange I figured it’s about time to print more bases. There is something very satisfying about printing 30 20mm bases in one go. 30 more on the printer. About 3.5 hours per set.
I’ll need to print a lot of details, gold, shields… but since I like to cure and dry my prints for a few days…
The goal is to have them done by next Sunday.
those bases look great! and quite a diversity.
I think there are actually “only” 5 different bases but if you rotate them they look pretty great with models on them
60 bases done in about 1.5 hrs from primer to ready for models. If you count sticking them on the tape, priming and drying it would still only be 3hrs.
You’re a machine @MichaelX
Looking great! i need to borrow my brothers 3d printer soon!
Depending on where you live there is a great sale on the anycubic site
A mate of mine jumped on this sale @MichaelX . Those without printers are now the minority in my gaming circle!
I believe 3d printers will be as common as regular printers in a few years.
I don’t think that they will be quite that common, but I think that it will be very common for wargamers to own them, especially with the costs getting so low and the quality so high. They pay for themselves easily for just a small army, it’s just a bit harder to find files to print stuff “inspired” by GW models - so many copyright takedowns even for stuff that isn’t really infringing. Grab stuff while you can for the models you are interested in.
Nice work there MichaelX!
Yes @cornixt - out of my group of 6 wargamers 4 are now set up to resin print and two of those also set up to filament print. Two years ago only one person had a filament printer and nobody had a resin one. Times have definitely changed.
Well, since the first emissary has arrived I can finally start adding to this blog again. First up the Anvilbrand twins.
Vogtann Anvilbrand, the emissary wo is now with @Zanko 's army
And his twin brother Yzenor, right hand dwarf of my general Halgar hellgaze
Yes, they are painted very similar… but they are twins!
I also finished the iron daemon. Only thing left to do is use matte varnish on some parts to get rid of the shine.
That looks awesome! I kinda like the shine on the red parts of the steam tanks
Looks soooo good!
