Lost Tribes of Zharr - Emissary Exchange

“The many fragments of Hashut unite. A great convergence of the lost, the misbegotten, and the damned is upon us.”

The Great Unification sought to bring all of Dawi Zharr society together under a single banner and bring chaos to the world. While many generals found common cause, there are those that remain on the fringes. Pacts still linger among the staunch supporters despite the actions of the wavering, the transitory, and the unaligned. Bonds must be reforged, new alliances established, and the chains that will subjugate all worlds made whole.

Lost tribes, eldritch cults, and sequestered factions have been emerging. There are bastards among them, some with powers unharnessed and potential untapped. The almighty Hashut remains fragmented, his machinations incomplete, worshippers scattered among disparate lands, realms, and universes. Strike while the anvil is hot, ready your emissary to commune with brethren near and far.

Join us, now is the time.

The format this year will be slightly different than the last emissary exchange in order to limit logistics, timeframe, and hopefully risk. Ask questions in the thread below so all can benefit from answers.

As a general comment, we want to encourage folks to create something in their own style and/or exercise their creativity to share with a fellow CDO member. Whether that be Hashut or Hashoot, hat or helm, tusked or tentacled, classic or newfangled. Yes Hobgoblins are allowed, perhaps because its Chaos Dwarf general can’t be bothered to make the trek himself. I highly recommend reading Uther’s multiversal take on Chaos Dwarfs from the Brazen Bastards Project Lore if you’re looking for inspiration. I want to make sure folks are encouraged to participate regardless of whether they’re a Turnip enjoyer, an Old Worlder, a Blormflarp buyer, a WAP f@pp€r, a 6th Ed Andy, an 8th Ed 4 lyfer, a King of War, a Mordheimer, or even a Trench Crusader.

Remember we have diplomat badges to work toward! Emissary exchanges, Secret Zhantas, etc count toward this achievement of CDO camaraderie. Also the painter of the model should feel free to share to our emissary image gallery as a way to keep track of the emissaries they have sent around the world and work on image gallery badges.

Further discussion points:

  • Basing:
In my opinion entrants should not base the model, potentially they could attach it to an unfinished base that could be easily separated as needed. Many of us play different systems, have different base schemes, etc and might want to nest their emissary into an existing unit. Let’s discuss this below. Definitely open to the thoughts of the group here. The goal is to get these emissaries into new homes so they can be fielded. Once we moot we can update the submission guidelines.
  • Timeline:
Feel free to comment on the duration I’ve set. I think it will be good to strike while the new year is hot but the exact deadline can be flexible. 3 months to paint one model, we can all do that I hope, and shouldn’t even need Chitz to shame us with monthly graphs.

I must confess to my shame that I have based the model (although it is more than 1 model). I was so in the flow that I simply forgot about it. But I’m sure that you can easily swap the base if necessary.

Zhorgrath Bazherak had made it, he had been appointed the new envoy. He didn’t know where he was going yet, but the appointment alone was a great honor and a career leap for him. Who would have thought 5 or 6 years ago that he, the son of a simple warrior, would make it this far? Nobody! Not even himself. Yes, he has magical talent, and he has been devoted to Hashut all his life, but as a new mage-priest … Rhukorr Hrudoth the Runesmith, the guardian of the border between Zharr and the Chaos Wastes, had recognized and encouraged his talent and his devotion to Hashut. After starting out as a commander of small scouting parties and then quickly working his way up to the military arm of the border post, Master Hrudoth had recommended him to the priests in Uzkulak at the Lizard King’s court. There, he was able to gradually rise through the hierarchy. And now, now he could finally reap the fruits of his labor. He had made it.
Then off he went, in a great procession straight to his new destination!

Zagor the Lizard King stood on the parapet of the city wall and watched the entourage with Zhorgrath Bazherak, the new envoy. Next to him stood Brazheran, his army commander and oldest advisor. “Do you think he’ll make it?” Brazheran frowned: “Really fill his new office?” “No, arriving alive is the difficulty!” Zagor remarked, then he turned around and disappeared into the fortress!

Here is Zhorgrath Bazherak:

I have noticed some painting mistakes, I will try to improve them without adding more mistakes!

Btw. I live in Germany!

Quite the start and a very fitting emissary. Fun lore blurb as well!

That’s how it’s done folks! Who’s next!?

I’ve added a table to keep track of the official entrants at the top of the thread. I’ll keep populating this as folks post their emissaries here.
