[TOW] Chaos Dwarf PDF for The Old World!

As a stand-alone unit, I think yes. But introduction of detachments is good for blunderbusses I think, stand & shoot has long been an occasion where they shine.

Blunderbuss and shields vs fireglaives though?

Wish we got more cds on the table thoughā€¦
30-40 seems the normal amount per 2k points

Ahh, gotcha. It will be interesting to see how well they do.

Iā€™m pretty happy with the list as it is. I wish you could still use the casteliian on a Great Taurus, but thatā€™s not too big a loss.

I"m planning to use the whirlwind and tenderizer as Bull Centaurs, or just convert some chaos dwarfs riding on ā€œModifiedā€ Khorne Juggernauts.

I know people were saying that you can take a Black orc one a wyvern, but are we able to use a Black orc hero or a lord? The former canā€™t ride a wyvern IIRC.

Only a Warboss may ride a wyvern.

Although clearly intended as the general-tier character type, there actually isnā€™t a concept of Lords in TOW. Thereā€™s just Characters, and the one with the highest LD is the General.

ā€œBlack Orc Bossā€ is the supercategory containing the Warboss and Bigboss profiles. As a result, following the language of the PDF, a Warboss is a legal pick. As a result, a Wyvern is a legal choice.

You could run your army with a Black Orc Warboss as the army general if you didnā€™t choose any characters with higher LD if you so chose.

Oh!? Good to know. Iā€™ll have to paint one up.

Yā€™all know what the real disgrace is? Our characters not having access to full plate armour. We make full plate Chaos Armour for the humans but donā€™t keep any for ourselves?

The black orcs steal it all i guess!

Garrrr, thatā€™s right, Black Orcs get it!

I do not really want to start houseruling until I have a few games in, but letting a castellan fly on a cow is probably not an unreasonable request in some house games.
I will likely ask atleast

just put the black orcs in front of the chaos dwarfs and they will do the same job as wearing the armour. I call it Operation: Get Behind The Greenskins

I do think itā€™s a fun option, especially because Greenskins are the most popular second army on the board, for obvious reasons.

The scope is really there to run a Khanate army that can actually fight pretty well against an opponent who pulls their punches a little, without much recourse to counts-as Chaos Dwarf units that have unusual or unreasonable toughness.

The biggest flaw, given the access to two Greenskin characters - one of which is a mainstream army general on a mainstream army monster - is the inability to cast. Still, for narrative purposes, having a legal army thatā€™s almost entirely slaves is pretty great. I just need to learn how to sculpt appropriately spikey slave collarsā€¦

Just put 1 and 1 together, that lack of FPA, at least on the Infernal Commanders, has to be an oversight. Even Ironsworn have it! Real shame there wonā€™t be an errata on the pdf.

Been thinking about this rule a lot.

I am a 1994 CD guy. I never had a painted CD army but got some models for my Abyssal Dwarfs for Kings of War. I even got Lamassu and Taurus and 2 Rocket launchers from first ā€œwaveā€ and used them for KoW for some time.

Then I got 6 render Bull centaurs I planned to use as Grotesques. But Mantic released their own Grotesques so those FW models ended in a ā€œfor laterā€ box.

Now tOW was released and I realized I have enough to build a 1500-2000 army!

I just need to paint few decimators.

I never really liked those oversized engines FW did so this list works for me. Will make a cool hobby project around It.

Blunderbusses are my favorite infantry and I plan to use a lot of those. This is what CD are all about!

Yeah. I did the same comparison too. Dragon ogres looks better but Bull centaurs have some other rules instead of stats. One of my 2 favorite unitsā€¦

Sadly I expect no futher changes to this file do we are drugi with what we have.
